  1. Hate 'em both, but Sabres in 6.
  2. Talk about catching a break...the wife calls and says my kids are both sleeping over their friend's house tonight, do I wanna go grab a beer and watch the game. She didn't get as much of a kick out of it as me when I said "yeah, great idea, I'll call Bob....but what are you gonna do tonight?" Anyway, cool my wife thinks like that...now if I could just get her to watch it with me at a titty bar.
  3. For doing their job?
  4. Most importantly, the Yankees pen has thrown by far the most innings of any team's pen, according to ESPN last night. that's what we want...burn 'em out early.
  5. I'm torn on who I want to win the NJ series. Hating the Rangers as much as I do, I kind of want the Rangers to have to play Buffalo...they'll be overmatched, I think. On the other hand, hating the Rangers as much as I do, I wouldn't mind seeing them against Ottawa and seeing Chris Neil kick the s*** out of some Rangers. Either way, if the playoffs eventually come down to a Buffalo-Ottawa matchup, I'd like that series...remember Neil's LEGAL hit on Drury that had the Sabres up in arms and drove them to attack the Sens star players? The Sabres proved little in the aftermath of that hit...in fact in my opinion they came out on the short end in every way. Neil beat the snot outta Stafford immediately after the hit. Peters went after the Sens goalie who had already had a fight with the Sabres goalie. Maier went after Spezza. Colletta trying to engage Heatley. Then in the rematch 2 days later, Neil beats up Maier and the Sens come away with a 6-5 victory. That would have potential to be a very intense series, and while I think Buffalo would take them, I'd be in Ottawa's corner.
  6. Right you are Sean. Have to admit that the way Buffalo played they can beat anyone...they're probably even deeper than Detroit, although lack the Lidstrom-type guy on defense but that may not matter given their speed. Is Afinogenov the fastest guy in the league? Gotta be close. Thing with Buffalo is I liked them back in the Perrault days, although I couldn't stand: Schoenfeld Ruff Foligno (nice helmet, ass clown) Then came the following and they were tougher to stomach: Rob Ray May Barnaby Now its Adam Maier that I can't stand and the fact that they are where they are largely due to the fact that they were saved by the NHL when their prior owner went belly-up. But fk me, they are looking mighty good.
  7. Detroit is my choice as well...guts, goaltending, balance, they are so solid. What an organization too...remember the B's management told us the big-spending teams would be handicapped when the salary cap rolled around? Wrong, Detroit has done very well in the new NHL. Scotty Bowman is a consultant...I think that helps...and my guess is their scouting is among the best in the NHL. On the other side of the coin, I'd love nothing more than to see the Sabres fold once again.
  8. Interesting pitching staff... Pussina. Wang. Carl Pavagina Scott Proctologist
  9. nice Gom. Personally my Mousaka ball is my meat and potatos pitch. I've also bean working on my Fasolada ball. I throw it mostly during Lent.
  10. Interesting how this early in the season there are such differing views on Matsuzaka, despite limited evidence. Jacksonian says: DiceK has shown that he can get a little wild at times and if you dont chase him, you can scratch a few runs across. Thump says: All he has to do is stay ahead in the counts, keep his composure, and he's gonna dominate. IMO there is virtually no way to tell conclusively what this year holds for him, it's simply way too early. Yeah, he has good stuff, but also, yeah this is a new league...give it some time.
  11. New Britian's Rock Cats have just as nice a place.
  12. Hey Beavis...the Zephyrs suck, heh, heh heh heh, heh, heh heh, heh
  13. he's 11, Sean. Not reaady for such luxuries.
  14. I hate the Sabres...let's go Isles. Hope Adam Maier gets his fkn teeth kicked in.
  15. true Evil. When such a reaction is called for and won't be detrimental to the overall good of the team, then it's ballsy and loyal to step up and do the deed. In this case, there is too much on the line in terms of long-term impact to Matsuzaka and the TEAM.
  16. not even close.
  17. Reputation is a key factor in the way umps treat pitchers. Right now Matsuzaka doesn't have one. Let's leave it that way as opposed to carving a negative rep in his 2nd ever start in MLB. IMO, there's is less to be gained by him plunking someone than there is to be lost. Leave the plunking to the bullpen at this point.
  18. Nice start to '07 for Weaver...his ERA is up to 31.50.
  19. thanks guys.
  20. Crunch... Norwood, Ma. What's it like? s*** hole? Nice town? My kid has a doubleheader some weekend this spring up there.
  21. Between Schilling, Lowell and Clement I'm guessing they have around $30m coming off the books.
  22. I live in Connecticut, and we were treated to the Buffalo-Philly game...two teams further away and a game that meant nothing. Needless to say I was pissed off.
  23. Heartbreaker for the Eagles tonight. I thought the penalty call with a few minutes left was pretty weak, the MSU player took a dive. Funny that it was Boyle who tipped the puck behind the net right to an MSU player who then set up the game winner.
  24. ARod, act like you've been there before. Oh wait...that would have to have been quite an act. As a Sox fan, the last thing I want to see is the Yankee fans get OFF his back. So I'm hoping for a nice 4k effort soon, maybe 5 LOBs, just to get the boo-birds back on him. We don't need him getting comfortable, he could carry that team, more so than can Captain Intangibles.
