  1. I've believed all along that the abundance of young arms were more likely potential trade bait in the near future than guys they planned to bring through the system. I haven't followed their performance so I don't know their value...I do know some of these guys were highly touted when the Yanks landed them via the Sheff and/or Johnson moves. Whether they acquire Santana? I don't know, but I think they'll get some talented pitching via a trade/eating salary this coming offseason.
  2. PC, nice. But for the record, I doubt Suyzyn douche's...my guess is she has a 12 inch schlong and a pair of balls that would make Earl Anthony wet his pants dreaming about drilling three holes into 'em.
  3. Sometimes its not what you say, but how you say it. I understand where he is coming from, but I don't agree with his appoach. He also mumbled some crap conceding the the Cy to Sabathia the other day "although Josh Beckett has already won 20." Kay's a douche, but he's obviously pleasing someone.
  4. Youk reminds me of Daubach a bit...solid start...then the slide. That said, Youk has more overall talent...but not as much as he apparently thinks he has. He comes up with bases juiced last night, me and my kid both predicted "check swing, caught looking" and he didn't dissapoint. The fkn check swing stuff is starting to piss me off...pay attention folks, he does it more than anyone I can remember recently. And that tells me he is overmatched. I like Youk, don't get me wrong. But I too am growing tired of his act.
  5. To a point I'd agree. But I just don't like when members of the Sox fan base present themselves in a ridiculous way...because they are perceived to speak for all of us. Examples: The "Yankees Suck" chants...can't stand that. (1) They don't suck. (2) I have to listen to Yankee fans claims that the Sox fans are a-holes because of the chant, and they are right in that the fans who are chanting ARE a-holes, but they're wrong to assume they represent true fans. "Yankees Suck T-shirts"...same as above...wearing one of those speaks volumes about the individual, but portrays the entire fan base in a negative light. Same goes for the Yankee fans. Those who come out of the woodwork when the Yankees prevail and start with the "26 WCs", Bucky Dent, Buckner, etc. are jerkoffs...and they paint the entire Yankee fan population that way too.
  6. What ticks me off is as true Sox fans we voice our disdain for these sideshows. Yet when all is said and done, other teams' fan bases will come away with the idea that we're all into this crap.
  7. Shelly Duncan is the scarecrow: http://extras.mnginteractive.com/live/media/site333/2007/0924/20070924__ODDYankeesHazing~2_Gallery.jpg After the photos there was an autograph session in which Shelly, signing for a 6 yr old, wrote "The Wizard of Oz sucks".
  8. I know this kid hasn't been anything close to cowardly....but he looks fkn hilarious. http://extras.mnginteractive.com/live/media/site333/2007/0924/20070924__ODDYankeesHazing~1_Gallery.jpg
  9. exactly. never hope for a guy's misfortune, but if injuries occur in the normal course of the season, so be it. Think Yankee fans (in general) are dissapointed by the injuries to Manny or Youk?
  10. Wow...Hill decided to make a play against the Yankees.
  11. Ignoring that GOM has turned this thread into his own personal trolling thread, the fact is that if the Yankees overtake the Sox, they deserve the title. They've played very well and the Sox have played mediocre baseball. I'm tipping my hat to them now for making it a close race. We will stay tuned, GOM, and may the better team win.
  12. Benefit of what doubt? You misinterpreted my post and I, not wanting to subject myself to incorrect accusations of being insensitive to folks with disabilities, edited my post and issued an apology despite being totally innocent of any insensitivity. You could have said "FYI that post could be construed as an effort to make fun of a person with a disability" and I'd have said "good point, I'll edit the post." But you accused me of being insenitive (where is the benefit of the doubt in that case???) and said "show some class. So what is worse than you accusing me of inappropriate comments, you are now trying to pass it off like you were giving me some benefit of the doubt? Anyway, thanks, I guess, for the benefit of the doubt...assuming you are sincere, you are correct...what you accused me of is not in my nature.
  13. This s*** makes me not want to watch anymore games this year. I mean it. Really, I do, I shouldn't watch another Sox inning, it's not good for my blood pressure....hitting sucks, pen sucks, Tito sucks, ..wait... You know, as badly as things have gone recently, if the sox can turn it around it could be BETTER than if they coasted in to the playoffs...yeah that's how I'll spin it. Beckett vs Kazmir Friday. I'm tuning in.
  14. Someone help me understand this... Tito brings Paps in when the sox are down 2-1...But sticks with Gagne when they were up 2-1 and Gagne was gagging again. Yeah, I know last night woulda been a 4 out save, but there's a day off right around the corner, so get the fkn win.
  15. If people are "getting an idea" I think it is more likely an idea of what YOU really represent here. Troll.
  16. Lame-ass request. The Yankees should petition the league to alter the schedule, not their opponent.
  17. I was looking for Delcarmen to pitch in the 8th as well. Sox announcers said when Gagne started the 8th that Francona was trying to get him right, uild his confidence, etc. and that doing it in tough situations was the way Tito wanted to go about it. I'd prefer he saw action when the Sox are up by 6 or so, not in close games. He's a mental case right now.
  18. One more time...not implying at all that they are playing badly...just saying OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS I WOULD LIKE THEM TO PLAY WELL and go into the PS on a roll.
  19. Well, you were correct not to expect that sort of comment from me because, as I explained, you misinterpreted my meaning. Bottom line...I know I did not have any ill-intention with that post and in retrospect that is all that matters, so the issue is dead.
  20. You need to re-read my earlier posts because you're misunderstanding me...better yet, here is what I said: Let's say the Sox win the division, going 6-5 the rest of the way, while the Yanks go 9-3 and finish one game back. Does that make anyone here comfortable going into the PS? and But did anyone ever hear a player or coach say "We limped into the playoffs and played like crap the last two weeks, so I think that makes us a confident team????" I did not say they played like crap I said I want them to go in playing well...we're talking future, Banned, next 11 games, and I want to see the Sox play well over that span so they enter the post-season with some momentum.
  21. Sure a team not on a roll can win it. But did anyone ever hear a player or coach say "We limped into the playoffs and played like crap the last two weeks, so I think that makes us a confident team????" I'd rather see them go in playing well.
  22. Was JOBA in Full Metal Jacket? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/03/Full-metal-jacket-901.jpg
