  1. Yeah, VA, 2003. See...head still fkd up thanks to that fkn John Walton look-alike. If I ever see him I'm gonna tell him I did his daughter Mary-Ellen and that his son John-Boy was blowing Jim-Bob behind the wood shed. Jacks, if post-season is all that matters in the Bronx, who is going to be left to play for the Yankees next year?
  2. Grady Fkn Little is personally responsible for sending me into a Xanax/Bud/JD bender for a several days after his total mismanagement of Game 7 of the 2007 ALCS.
  3. He could do advertisements for Neo-Synephrine nasal spray...that fkn schnoz of his is already famous...they'd just have to stay on him about not picking it during filming.
  4. Like any good manager/coaching staff/FO I am sure there has been a lot of thought put into the various potential scenarios that might evolve over the course of this series in terms of how the pitching will align. Bottom line with the Sox is they don't panic and they don't play to lose in 6 instead of losing in 5. They play to win the series, period. As such, I wouldn't be shocked by them doing something unconventional OR something that seems too conservative. Whatever it takes without sacrificing player health and the team's ultimate chance to win it all.
  5. According to studies (see link below) Viagra has been shown to improve athletic performance at high altitudes, due to its vasodilation tendencies. If true could it be put to work in the WS? Will the Sox be bringing more "WOOD" to the plate than just their Louisville Sluggers? Whatever the case, it's a stiff challenge for the Sox and and they'll certainly rise to the occasion. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/06/060624120556.htm Kidding aside, based on what I've read, the altitude should have minimal impact, if any. These aren't marathon runners or cyclists we're talking about.
  6. would depend on what happens games 1-3.
  7. Says the article: "Farrell has a reputation as a shrewd talent evaluator, a characteristic that would look good on his resume relative to the Pirates." Great, he could further cement Pittsburgh's status as an organization that locates and develops talent that they'll never be able to afford to re-sign several years into the players contracts. Good luck, Johnny, maybe you can get them to a .500 record for the first time since 1992 (although I doubt it). Then again, that could be good enough for 2nd place in the worst division in baseball.
  8. 26...Give me the name of a GM who is perfect. "The Boy Wonder" thing is a media creation and only the sheep latch onto to that label and the associated expectations of perfection. I don't think any reasonable fan portrays Theo as being the perfect GM...in fact I think reasonable fans understand that there is no such thing. It's less an issue of a GMs flaws than it is an issue of "not all moves work out"...that's just the way it is. There's good acquisitions and bad ones...there are good non-signings and bad ones, etc. GM's go with what they know at the time, based on the analysis they and their staffs put together, with consideration given to the long and short-term status and goals of the organization, their current and future needs, their resources, etc.
  9. IMO, he's not looking to lose the series 4-2 or 4-3. He's looking to win it...period. To win this series, in Tito's mind, they have to "steal" one (not that beating Byrd really is a great steal, but...), otherwise Schill and Dice don't get the extra rest that Tito and Farell think they need in order to have a shot. I understand the philosophy of win today andworry about tomorrow, well, tomorrow. However I also undertsand Francona's thought process (although I may not totally agree) and I think you've got to respect it. He's a lot closer to the situation than any of us.
  10. 6 innings. 3 runs. That's what I want out of Wake tonight. hell, even 5 1/3 might do it. If he were to go 6 innings and give up no more than three runs, there is no way in hell the Red Sox should lose. Of course I said "should." Anything can happen, but if the Sox are legit they've got to be able to score a handful on Byrd. 6 and 3, Wake. Please?
  11. Fitzy is a poser. He does a fairly good job of playing his character in those vids but it ain't real and while he's somewhat humorous he's not that far removed from Affleck, Farrell et al. Fk 'em all.
  12. You have to be kidding. It was Kenny Lofton. Kenny Fkn Lofton. Ya think the RF was playing deep? No, he's looking to take away a hit, not playing the warning track. Combine that with the fact that it wasn't exactly a moon shot and you have a ball that is going to be very tough to make a play on. Expecting a player to rob a guy of that homer is just silly.
  13. No s***, Captain Obvious. However, one game at a time, no reason to look ahead unless you are (a) giving up or ( hoping the Sox lose the series. I take it you're in camp (?
  14. Jeez, go easy on Dice. After all, look at all the benefit of the doubt Clemens was given despite his proclivity to encounter a problem such as.... the blister a hammy an elbow a groin a temper tantrum (1988? or was it 1990?) in the playoffs. And yet some still talk about Mrs. Dave Stewart as if he were some God-like being as opposed to the big-game gagger he truely is.
  15. Dude, your last post before the ridiculous one above was last November. Did you suffer a serious head injury since then?
  16. Wow. Gagne sucks dick. I think he grew the beard to hide the stretch marks.
  17. Chris Gomez is probably a good guy to face as your 1st batter
