  1. I agree, part of the challenge of this draft is risking a later pick for one you know won't make it back to you. It also places MORE emphasis on your team building strategy. Take Youker20, he nabbed two of the top 5 tackles in the game. His offensive line will be very, very good based on that alone but who will his skill guys be?
  2. It is. Thoughts on my last pick? I really like your last two picks and I'm lukewarm on the Williams/Gaither selections. In terms of pure upside, Gaither was probably the best choice for a LT still on the board but I think Williams is a bit overrated, especially here at the start of round 3. Not to say he isn't a good player but I have at least three backs i like ahead of him.
  3. Torn between two players, ultimately Went with youth and incredible playmaking ability. Two straight years of double digit sacks. Will have lots of opportunities with Ngata clogging the middle... LaMarr Woodley, OLB
  4. Ok, starting with round 3 the window shrinks to 10 hrs. Well see if this works and if it doesn't we can reduce it further.
  5. With my next pick, I'll take a guy who will help shore up my D-line for a long time. Ask any knowledgeable NFL mind and they'll tell you this guy is a freak of nature. Or you can just ask Mark Sanchez. Hatoli Ngata, DT
  6. I'm here guys, give me a sec. Nce job with this over the weekend, I see we have a crazy run on LTs going. I'm all for shortening the window to eight hours if everyone else wants that, too
  7. I'm concerned flynnatic will not be an active participant in this. If he gets skipped twice, we might just drop his team.
  8. Patrick Willis is a phenomenal pick. I'm interested to see how YH builds his defense.
  9. Whoa not the direction I'd thought you'd go
  10. Msu has until 1047 pm
  11. Simply put I don't think there's another position in football that is so dependent on other people doing their jobs to have success than a running back. Look at the top RBs in the league today - Johnson, Adrian Peterson, etc...they have phenomenal offensive lines in front of them. I think there's value to a running back but if I'm starting a complete team (which is what this exercise is about) I'm not spending such a high pick on a running back. The bust rate and flameout potential is simply too high. Then again, that's my view on things. If 22407 decides to draft three OL in a row, Johnson's value could be even higher. I just think without it, you're not getting the value expected of the #6 pick. FTR, I would not have selected Johnson as the first running back taken.
  12. I thought Revis would be the first defensive player gone (I wouldn't have chosen him but you can't argue with results) and I LOVE the Clady pick. Nice to have a franchise LT so early in the draft (I assume that's where Youker wants him)
  13. Don't get me wrong, Johnson is a great player and a heck of a weapon to have. I'd be interested to see who you draft for your O-line. Johnson has benefitted from probably the best line in the league the last few years.
  14. As I mentioned before, I think RB is an overrated position and I would not take one this early. Don't like the pick, but I can be convinced otherwise.
  15. Team: BP Spillers QB: Tom Brady HB: Matt Forte HB: Willis McGahee WR: Marques Colston WR: Roddy White WR: Jerricho Cotchery WR: Jordy Nelson TE: Aaron Hernandez RT: Sebastian Vollmer RG: Josh Sitton C: Dan Koppen LG: Jake Scott LT: Joe Staley DE: Chris Long DE: Cameron Wake DT: Hatoli Ngata OLB: LaMarr Woodley OLB: Chad Greenway ILB: Karlos Dansby ILB: Jonathan Vilma CB: Corey Webster CB: Nate Clements FS: Nick Collins SS: Jim Leonhard K: Sebastian Janikowski P: Chris Kluwe KR/PR: Dexter McCluster Coach: Dom Capers BU 1: Josh Freeman BU 2: Chris Canty
  16. Divinity - if you want in, you can be in. You can draft any player on an NFL team rookies included. Please remember that the pick clock stops between 12 and 8. If the last pick was at 2:44, the next pick is due at 10:44 am. This is going to take a while guys, be patient.
  17. No, but I did expect the first five picks to be a combo of Rivers, Manning, Brady, Brees, and Rodgers.
  18. First five picks went exactly as expected for me. Here's where it gets interesting, as ive thought all along that #6 would be the first non-QB taken
  19. If two rounds pass the player is automatically skipped. Also, this draft snakes (just to be 100% clear)
  20. I pretty much know what the next pick will be (although I do want to stress not naming guys who haven't been picked yet). I have to question the methodology of wanting to pick a RB first... In my mind there's no more overrated position in football and I don't plan on drafting one for a really long time. There's only two or three backs in the entire league who I'd spend a first round pick on and I wouldn't spend a top 10 pick on them.
  21. JB44 is on the clock And has until 820 pm to pick
  22. I like the Rivers and Manning picks. the Rivers pick may have been a homer pick but you can't dispute Rivers as a top 5 QB right now. He led the Chargers to the conference title game on a torn ACL for crying out loud. Where things will get interesting is when people pick non-skill positions, IMO.
  23. I had numerous draft strategies for what I would do depending on where my draft slot fell in the first round. I had already talked myself into not drafting a QB because I am a believer in building from the interior on out. That changed when I got the third draft selection and the first two picks came about. The BP Spillers are proud to select a guy who I was sure would have gone first or second in this draft, especially considering the board we are on. With the third selection, we are pleased to welcome Tom Brady, QB to the team.
