  1. My compromise is that we draft two backups of your choice. I don't think we should have backups at all, but the point about injuries is a good one. I don't want this to drag on and have to do full 53 man rosters, so my proposal is two backups at whatever position you'd like.
  2. TO is a real head scratcher, not sure what the rationale for that pick is.
  3. I'm more than comfortable with enforcing an 8 hour window. Also, since he's been the guy who's really helped the league move along, I'd like to make Ital co-commissioner of this draft, meaning his judgment will be as good as mine on all rulings/questions. If he's willing, of course.
  4. Guys I've said multiple times I won't make many picks on the weekend. I apologize for not making picks in a more timely fashion but if it happens again, just skip me and I'll make my picks upon return. I think I've been pretty active during the week, but weekends just don't work as well. Anyway, I'll take Corey Webster, CB and Sebastian Vollmer, RT
  5. I don't see the big deal, but those who are in favor of shortening the window just post that you are
  6. I'll take Joe Staley, LT Pretty much a need pick at this point, but Staley has a lot of potential if he stays healthy to be a solid LT for years to come.
  7. Are you kidding me? I was going to pick McKinnie after Dielman And Stinchcomb were taken. Pick up in a second...
  8. Man, these linemen keep getting snatched up. Hopefully there will be a few more when I pick in later rounds.
  9. In
  10. With my next pick, I'll be taking a playmaking safety in the classical ballhawking playmaking style. While guys like Polamalu get a lot of pub (and deservedly so), this guy has really made a name for himself when it comes to making plays on the ball. I'll take Nick Collins, FS
  11. YH screws me over with the OL I was going to pick with my next selection. Oh well, I'll find SOMEONE to protect Brady. I love Jermichael Finley but he went way too early, same with Spiller, they're very talented but I think there's more "sure bets" on the board right now than those guys.
  12. I'll make the Cushing change. I think ten hours is fine, some people can access the board on weekends. This thing is moving along at a decent enough pace.
  13. And of course my two picks were the best of the weekend
  14. Here's a quick rundown of the picks made over the weekend: Champ Bailey - don't like the pick. He's old and there are better corners who are younger. Suh - good pick, great talent, went right about where he should IMO Haynesworth - hate the player, pick not terrible, game changer when motivated but he's not that guy often enough Orakpo - Legit monster. Excellent pick Seymour - like Bailey; picked because he's a household name not because he's the most talented player left at that position Samuel - good pick for a. #1 corner interested to see who your #2 will be Hali - solid pick Boldin -'might be the best "value" pick of the draft so far. Can't believe Welker and a few other WRs went before him Best - based on what, one game? Dockett - real good player at this stage. One of my top 5 DTs Urlacher - see Seymour/Bailey write-ups McNeill - best of the LTs remaining which sucks for me Charles - explosive runner but I still have my doubts that he is an every down back Finnegan - very underrated player, surprised he went this early not because he isn't talented but because I didn't think people knew about him. Cushing - STEROIDS Mathis - awesome rush end in a 4-3 defense. Hope that's what you're planning on Williams - injury concerns but a load in the middle
  15. Second pick is ILB Jonathan Vilma These two ILB will help our defense make plays all over the field while Woodley rushes the passer and Ngata clogs the middle.
  16. I have two picks? I'll take ILB Karlos Dansby Second pick forthcoming
  17. f*** Gross was the guy I passed on, I thought he'd last the next round to get back to me. s***, back to the drawing board.
  18. I feel I am taking a gamble here but I know he won't make it back to me. Nwiththis selection I am giving Brady all of the weapons he could ever dream of, and what I truly believe to be the best 1-2 WR combo in this fantasy exercise. I'll take Roddy White, WR
  19. I'd ask who has more, then? Maybe Welker, but in 2006 he was in Miami.
  20. Right. I mentioned that earlier in the day, once Y228 made the Ratlff selection it enabled me to pick either my #1 choice (Colston) or my #2 pick when my turn came. Clark wasn't on my board And in fact Colston was the only guy on your list that was on my board. Very very happy to get him, he's a true #1 receiver who is not afraid to go over the middle and make the tough catch. Tom Brady would be psyched to throw to him.
  21. Oher played RT last season. Going skill with my next pick. A guy that has more catches than anyone else since the start of the 2006 season (at least according to the MNF crew on Monday) Marques Colston, WR
  22. You know what? You're right, I forgot they were banking on Pedroia to come back and make a run. Still, what was the best BP arm that was moved at the deadline? Qualls? Wood had a pretty bad start to the year with the Guardians, at that point was he really an upgrade to what they already had? In all honesty, losing the players they did was the principal reason they are not playing in October. Yes the bullpen sucked but when you have Bard/Papelbon closing it out you've got one of the best tandems in the game. If Pedroia, Youkilis, and Ellsbury are healthy for the season, there's no doubt in my mind they contend for a playoff spot (not claiming they make it when it looks like TB and NY win 95), even with their bullpen now.
