    That's how it was done then, they didn't have MRIs or understand the extent of injuries and what they might lead to if not attended to. Diagnosis is exponentially better now, so are treatments and rehab modalities. It's sort of an apples/oranges comparison....even though Yaz had giant brass balls.

    Pedro, no questions asked. It's far easier for pitcher to give up more runs than one guy can knock in on his best days. In the playoffs, it's really the team that allows the fewest runs that wins.

    I think they'd trade him for a prospect right now if they could dump the salary with him. I can't help but feel that 2012 is the Year of the Dump in Boston. They won't eat salary to do it, they'd wait the season out and get compensated for losing him to FA.

    I flew into LaGuardia yesterday, and saw Citi Field, Manhattan, Yankee Stadium... It's really the only way to see NY - safely, from 1500'.

    Tito should have worn the red pullover instead of the game jersey. Millar should have worn the KFC bucket on his head. I was in FL with the family visiting my in-laws and missed all this.

    BV has been brought in so the FO can shed some payroll. When it's over and the team has sucked, they'll blame him and throw him under the bus when in fact he'll only have been 50% of the problem with the other 50% being they didn't sign quality guys to fill the holes.
