  1. Good thing Cain's dong hit the Sports Authority sign or it would have taken out traffic on I-90.
  2. Thankfully, we had John Farrell's watch on our side.
  3. GULP!!!!! WTF!!!!!
  4. Walks the tying run to scoring position... my ass is tighter than Taylor Swift at a biker benefit...
  5. f***ing missile....Bailey is throwing all fastballs, all flat....I have sphincter cramps...
  6. Even better.
  7. From another thread, but I think this spot on observation earns Jacko the nickname "Son of Selok".
  8. It's a great start, IMO. We need to keep building on it.
  9. Make sure you get a screen capture of it.
  10. Wait, would that make him "Son of Selok" then?
  11. He's SHU's problem now...
  12. Where's your sense of humor? With the moves we've made in the offseason, I'm still hoping John Farrell's watch comes through for us...
  13. I'll enjoy watching him in highlight reels much more than I'd enjoy watching him live.
  14. Youkilis scratched for minor cramp: http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2013/2/26/4032330/kevin-youkilis-injury-yankees Arod would have just taken some Pamprin and been in the lineup.....
  15. Yes, but he finished his career in Boston. You think "Youk" is easy to finagle linguistically? I haven't seen you offer any help, Mr. Literal Concrete Operational.
  16. It's Howk.... I said it was wordplay, not phoneticplay.... If you need it to rhyme you could always make it PukeOfTheNation.
  17. Change it to Houk Of The Nation?:dunno: Ralph Houk finished his managerial career in Boston, a players' manager, and was known as "rough, blunt and decisive" on the field. Plus, it would be wordplay...
  18. So exactly how would you scale him?
  19. If the ball was stuck in the backstop it would have been called dead. The batter would get first base on the pitch, and wind up at second (one base) on the dead ball.
  20. An interesting angle to take with Ted is the Inverted "U" theory of human performance. It postulates that performance increases with intensity to a certain point, at which increases in intensity actually diminish performance...basically an athlete or performer starts to go on "tilt". But the curve slides along the x-axis, performance, depending on the individual and their mindset. Ted was intense, but he was also a cocky MF'er with no shortage in the confidence department. There's an argument that guys like him, Manny, Barry Bonds, Ricky Henderson, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Neon Deion, and Ali were the greatest because their mental opinions of themselves never limited their physical abilities.
  21. Sorts Illustrated July 8, 1968 The Science of Hitting http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1081357/index.htm It's amazing how close he was to being correct based just on experience and observation without the benefit of high speed camera analysis in an era before baseball-related human performance science was very empirical.
  22. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ap-source-red-sox-sign-195510153--mlb.html No harm, no foul....
  23. He died in '06... http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/002/215/791/23delarosa.190_display_image.jpg?1336717838 RIP, Nelson.
  24. Pedro returns as an assistant to the GM. He should be in a role similar to the one Varitek has been given. http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2013/01/24/sports/doc5101736f94cd9626594815.txt
