  1. I don't think Garza is worth the prospects it would take to acquire him. Theo's put it to us enough, I'll take a pass on him. It'll take a couple more starts to be sure, but there's a chance that Morales can be that lights out guy 4 out of 5 times out. I'm really intrigued by this kid, he's still just 26. Maybe he's figured it out and is ready to be the guy Colorado thought they had.
  2. Yankees lost Pettitte yesterday too. Gives the Red Sox a good opportunity to make up some ground.
  3. I'd agree that the whining to media is helping nobody, aside from the opposing pitchers. It's more of a distraction than anything though. One thing this team has lacked from Bobby, besides the Youk comment early, has been accountability. Ever since Pedroia (and presumably the FO) neutered him, he has failed to hold his players accountable for their play.
  4. I don't see it happening. The Red Sox offense is 2nd to the Rangers in the major leagues. It's been inconsistent, but it's not the problem with this team. The problem, despite recent success, has been starting pitching overall.
  5. I'm with Bellhorn10, I refuse to place any emphasis on Dice-K or Aaron Cook.
  6. I'm not opposed to this either. It's not like everybody that plays the outfield gets injured and Gonzo showed he can handle it in Philly. I'm sure he will be careful out there, he's a smart guy.
  7. I agree with you, definitely on Crawford. I knew this team was headed for the gutter when people started pegging has return as vital. That's only the case if he's '10 CC, a side of him we haven't seen yet and may not see.
  8. In my opinion, Cody Ross has been the main culprit. He looks lost out there, it's almost sad to watch.
  9. The team needs to acquire high level pitching prospects to build toward 2013 and beyond. The reason they suck is simple, the pitching sucks. It's less about the "attitude" and "leadership" of this team. Are those things important? Yes. Are they why the Sox suck right now? No. It all comes down to horrendous pitching.
  10. I think he would have suitors. Aside from two starts, he's been decent this year. The Red Sox definitely won't get his value back and they'll pay a good chunk of salary but if he's willing, they should try. His time here has come.
  11. I agree with Orange Juiced, Bard has tremendous potential. One of his problems have been late innings when he should be on the bench anyways. His max for now should be 100 pitches.
  12. Complete agree, although I get why the Red Sox let him walk, Beltre would be a huge addition to this lineup. I get a kick out of his "one knee homers".
  13. They're saying ACL and meniscus. Possibly a season/career ending injury at his age.
  14. I agree, it's not as simple as it was before Bard made his first start. At that time everyone was calling for him to be back in the bullpen. Now that he's proven he can start and looks like he could be a pretty good one to boot, it complicates the situation. The FO figures to save a lot of money if he develops into a good starter under team control for a few years so we can expect him to get a fair shot.
