  1. just swap Youk and Gonzalez 1. Crawford LH 2. Pedroia RH 3. Gonzalez LH 4. Youkilis RH 5. Ortiz LH 6. Martinez SH 7. Drew LH 8. Kalish LH 9. Scutaro RH
  2. There would probably be enough AB to go around for an OF of Kalish/Ellsbury/Cameron/Drew. A lot of LHH's there but also Kalish/Ellsbury/Drew can all play all three OF positions. I think that would work best with Kalish gaining experience and then taking over completely in 2012.
  3. 22 AB... .284/.354/.473/.827 vs. LHP in AAA
  4. but he's on the 25 man roster and played last night after pinch hitting. He should absolutely be in the lineup
  5. what does Nava have to do to get his f***ing ABs?
  6. If Ellsbury returns and proves he's back to normal with hitting and fielding, his value will skyrocket. He's entering his prime and under control for the next 3-4 years. .301/.355/.415/.770 CF's who steal 70 bases and play above average defense don't exactly grow on trees. Plus if you look at his career thus far, he's getting better and could be a .800 OPS guy very soon. Would have to get a huge haul to trade him IMO.
  7. Clearly the best lineup and OF would be Nava-Kalish-Drew, but with the 'veteran' Patterson on the roster, Francona keeps starting him.
  8. Ellsbury/Pedroia needs to come back so we can get Patterson off the roster, this is getting a little ridiculous Francona
  9. No reason to take a flier on a bum like Laroche or prospect when Lowrie could play 3B and Rizzo/Anderson are fairly close to the majors. This is way out there but here's what I'd like to see happen in the next couple years: 1) resign Martinez 2) Integrate Kalish this year and next to take over for Drew in 2012 3) Integrate Iglesias late next year to hopefully take over for Scutaro in 2012 4) Make a trade for Fielder using Kelly/Lowrie/Anderson/etc. switch Youk to 3B next year, start Fielder at 1B and then move Fielder to DH for 2012 5) Sign Werth or Crawford longterm for LF 2011 1) Ellsbury CF 2) Pedroia 2B 3) Youkilis 3B 4) Fielder 1B 5) Ortiz DH 6) Werth LF 7) Martinez C 8) Drew RF 9) Scutaro SS 2012 1) Ellsbury CF 28yrs 2) Pedroia 2B 28yrs 3) Youkilis 1B 33yrs 4) Fielder DH 28yrs 5) Werth LF 33yrs 6) Martinez C 33yrs 7) Kalish RF 24yrs 8) 3B FA/trade 9) Iglesias SS 22yrs ah ya
  10. I really like the Bard set-up and Papelbon closer situation anyway. Tito would never go for the relief ace (IE using your best MR pitcher at the most important time of the game whether it's the 9th or not), but since Bard is the best MR but Papelbon is the established closer, we can use Bard in any situation.
  11. are you kidding me Papelbon
  12. /fist pump
  13. But it is broke, Jeter is getting 23 mil to A) leadoff with an OBP of .337 and not steal bases anymore. Gardner would represent a significant upgrade.
  14. That seems like overkill. In the playoffs who do you take out of that rotation and move to the bullpen? Matsuzaka is pitching well and signed to a very manageable contract while Felix is getting paid 160+mil after next year. Plus talk about unloading a three players at double-A and above that have a very realistic chance of being impact players in the near future. This was a move that made sense last year but with the emergence of Buchholz and the signing of Lackey, it doesn't make much sense anymore.
  15. brb playing Cleveland Guardians
  16. Finally all the guys are healthy and in place to make a serious run. The lineup: 1. Lester 11-5 2.92. Speaks for himself, a top 3 pitcher in baseball 2. Beckett 2-1 6.63. Very rough start and injury but he looks like he's back and if he is then he's a top pitcher in baseball 3. Buchholz 11-5 2.71. Possibly due for some regression but has ace stuff so expect him to maintain a high level. 4. Lackey 10-5 4.26. Former ace of the Angels, and a second half pitcher historically. Been very good over the past few weeks 5. Matsuzaka 7-3 4.09. Wild card, but has posted a 2.92 ERA since Jun 1st. So there ya have it, 5 guys who could all potentially post ERA's under 4 in the AL East. I like how we're shaping up for the stretch run. Res ipsa loquitur. Let the good times roll!
  17. Why are Dipre's posts being posted through italianstal?
  18. Hating on Cameron now? Dudes been hitting well the past month and a half while providing good defense. He's paid 8 mil because he's a decent hitting CF who provides good defense. He has been a 4+ WAR player 3 out of the last 4 years. Not Cameron's fault Tito would rather play Patterson
  19. Beckett was great, really shouldn't have any ER on the record
  20. f*** you Hermida
