  1. Actually people always use the star wars/evil empire metaphor but I think this could work. Yankees = Germany Red Sox = USA Tampa Bay = Soviet Union
  2. lol surprised it took 8 posts for someone to point this out
  3. honestly the chances of Molina even hitting a triple are less than 1 in 1000 and he does it on the night he needs it for the cycle. Pretty much sums up this series so far
  4. fat ass legs out a triple
  5. you have got to be kidding me
  6. sounds like? Voices in your head telling you this?
  7. Luckily Wake brought his A game tonight. How is this rotation not aligned after the break?
  8. Is this real life? Alex Gonzalez, was traded to Atlanta to help improve the team and Escobar goes the other way. Granted Escobar is having a bad season but he's 27 and posted a .301/.375/.426/.801 the past three years. For Alex Gonzalez who's having a fluke season and sucks in general.
  9. Nice, probably won't be seeing Hanley in town anytime soon though
  10. 20 SB the past two years. Drew is often referred to as a five-tool player yet doesn't have huge SB numbers
  11. I think Fielder would be more of an offseason target. Right now our top offensive players are at 1B/3B/DH but in the offseason two of those slots are fairly open.
  12. still doing his thing, .312/.384/.506/.890
  13. I think it'll be very hard to catch the Yankees a second time after another big deficit but I think we're in very good position for the WC. Plus we stack up very well with the Yankees in October.
  14. Prior 5 years: 3.44, 3.56, 3.01, 3.75, 3.86 ERA. Pitching in the AL the whole time so no league change. Pretty hard to predict someone is all of a sudden going to lose 1.5 K/9 and add 1.0 BB/9 after extremely consistent numbers. Idk what has changed but there's very little in the past couple years to indicate this was going to be his ability. Also please feel free to show everyone the post where you called him bust prior to the season
  15. Must have been written by a complete fanboy
  16. Fair enough, I give the slight edge to Sabathia based on better regular season numbers, but wouldn't feel at much of a disadvantage, if any at all, by starting a healthy Beckett against him.
  17. in a playoff series: Lester = Lee Beckett = Buchholz = Pettitte Lackey = Burnett Big pickup for the Yankees if it happens but doesn't necessarily crown them champions
  18. I've been impressed with him also, he's holding his own in Greenville. What stands out to me is the 27 for 28 SB, that is quite impressive for only 235 AB. He's posted similar stats to Lin when he was 19 in A, hopefully unlike Lin he'll make a bigger leap once he starts hitting the upper minors.
  19. The Red Sox have sucked up their pride in the past (IE Lugo) and started the better player over the one who is paid more. Cameron isn't terrible but .715 OPS isn't getting it done in a corner OF spot but as a 4th OF I think he'd be solid.
  20. NY Posts article mentions the Sox interest: http://www.prosportsdaily.com/comments/phils-may-cut-werthy-deal-385795.html Question is whether or not he's the right piece to go after and at what cost? Lineup would look even more amazing (talking about .850+ hitters from your 2 spot to your 8 spot with Ellsbury and scutaro posting fairly solid OBPs) 1. Ellsbury 2. Pedroia 3. Martinez 4. Youkilis 5. Oritz 6. Werth 7. Drew 8. Beltre 9. Scutaro Does say Kalish + Doubrout get a deal done?
