I agree. The guy is a winner. He was key to the 2013 success and his absence was a big reason for the 2014 flop. I want him back.

The theorem is basically useless: He loses too many one run games for a manager with a solid end of the game bullpen. His team is not fundamentally sound and it has no proficiency at manufacturing a run in tight game. That is on the manager. Bill James needs to stick to strat-o-matic. That was his sweet spot.

Who will want him for $13 million? Are you proposing that they eat most of his salary --- around say $10 million?

If you sit Koji down, his agent might have a grievance. He is a free agent after the season so he will want to accumulate stats. If we want to sit him, we will have to sign him now.

Victorino is slated to make $13 million in 2015. He will be in the OF if healthy. Odd man out will be Nava. Betts will be moved to 3rd is my guess. I don't know what happens to Craig.

He's clumsy in the field and he will give you a heart attack on a line drive, but he has a great arm and he pulverizes a baseball with the bat.

I am enjoying the Jeter suck-fest in his final season. I am also glad that he is such a prima dona that he insists on playing SS every night even though there are 2 Shortstops better than him on the team, and that Girardi doesn't have the buts to sit him down.

Chone Figgins was a natural second baseman that played a lot of 3rd for the Angels. He didn't have much power either, but he was an offensive catalyst.

The possibility of firing Farrell has been discussed by some people recently. Some people think that it would be scapegoating. Maybe the player friendly approach was only an effective motivational tool for one year as a reaction to Bobby V's egotistical arrogance. What I have not seen is an analysis of some statistics. I think that we have lost the most 1 run games, and yesterday, I heard that we lead the league in extra inning losses. We can't blame these things on the back of the bullpen, because they have been very effective. One run games and extra inning games are where managerial tactics can be a deciding factor. If our players were more effective at bunting, maybe that couldd have helped. Maybe some hit a runs. On the other side, we made a ton of stupid outs on the bases. These thing can make a difference. Edit: The Yankees have scored 9 more runs than the Red Sox and they are only marginally better in ERA ranking and run differential ranking, but yet they are 12 games better than us in the loss column. I think that has to be attributed largely to the managers.

There is no guarantee that Pedroia would be a good 3B either, so I'd rather not weaken the team at 2 positions.

Prior to 2014, XB, Bradley and WMB probably would have been enough to get Chris Sale. THe FO thought they had 3 Gold Star prospects, and now we are left with a project in XB and 2 bags of trash. -
Without power production, the guy is pretty much a zero. Load him on the moving van with Webster.
