  1. It makes sense unless he is on your fantasy team. Lol!
  2. Hopefully, it is a sign that he is finally figuring out things.
  3. Hanley is a FA after this season. Also, there have been rumors that Tulo wants out of Colorado. If no solid offensive IF option is availabe, I'd rather go with Betts at 3rd than either Middlestinks or Holt. We need to add some offense to the IF, not necessarily a power hitter. We may have enough power with Ortiz, Cespedes, and Naps.
  4. Stanton is a pipedream for us.
  5. These hand problems are becoming a chronic issue. Management need to plan for the possibility that he will never be the same hitter. On top of getting 2 top of the rotation starting pitchers, they will need to get a big IF Bat -- a catalyst or a big thumper. An IF of a diminished Pedroia, Bogaerts, and Middlestinks or Holt is not going to cut it when we are carrying a glove man behind the plate (Vasquez) and an unknown quantity in CF (Castillo). That is more than half a lineup of dead weight. Our offense will be on par with the Padres again.
  6. Based on Barnes short outing, I liked Barnes stuff more than Ranaudo's stuff. He potches down in the zone better than Ranaudo.
  7. So we should be prepared for 2-3 more years of last place?
  8. Rivero in for Middlestinks. Hey, a hit in his first AB. Congratulations. That's a week of work for Middlestinks.
  9. Here's Barnes in his debut. Good luck kid.
  10. His stuff is nothing special.
  11. Ranaudo is giving up some bombs.
  12. Nava is a terrible base runner.
  13. 6 through 9 are very weak.
  14. It is rare to develop 3 fulltime average position players at the same time nevermind them being stars. But sometimes three prospects can be turned into a star in a trade. People might scream about gutting the system, but you would be getting a bona fide star. We held on to our chips thinking they were gold, but instead they turned out to be Buffalo Chips.
  15. Third baseman of the future!!!
  16. I dumped all of my tickets from June until September at a loss. It wasn't worth the trip up there to see the horror show, and I couldn't get anyone to join me. So, I dumped them just like in 2012.
  17. Another shutout. How many is that? I am not used to this from Red Sox teams in my 48 years of fandom. What is the percentage of our runs for which Ortiz is responsible?
  18. if the attack van be verified without the testimony of the spouse, law enforcement can prosecute the case. It makes it very difficult to have a successful prosecution without the help of the spouse, because spouse can claim extenuating circumstance or that it was not an assault etc.
  19. So the author concludes that the probability that Bradley will be toast is overwhelming. As for Xander being our next superstar, he has a 50/50 chance of becoming a Chris Speier type performer. Oh boy, we are on our way back to prominence. He has a 13% probability of becoming an above average performer. They have clearly hit more than a bump in the road - they are experiencing more than ordinary growing pains.
  20. Maybe one of the positives that will come out of 2014 will be that the owners and FO will come to the conclusion that our scouting department needs some revamping.
  21. Middlebrooks ahead on the count 3-0 with bases loaded and one out proceeds to k on the next 3 pitches. Oye!
  22. Is Jenny Dell sitting behind home plate tonight?
  23. He has a good batting eye and he hits the ball where it is pitched.
  24. Prior to 2014, he was still known as a legitimate power threat. After putting up 2 knocks in 200 ABs, it's hard to sell anyone on that attribute.
  25. What about Middlebrooks? You don't think his value has diminished? As for XB, while we may be a long way off from knowing whether he will be a solid major league ballplayer, we pretty much know that he is not going to live up to the "through the roof" hype that was floating around before the beginning of 2013.
