Censorship. .. on a message board? A ridiculous notion. The best we can do is have a civil discourse and not insult each other, but some people have to start s*** when they should just be enjoying a great game.
His pitch count is reasonable, but I don't see sending him out for the 8th inning. It would be our luck to blow out his arm before he gets his feet wet.
This is a pleasure to watch-- a Red Sox pitcher going into the 7th inning giving up no runs on 2 hits on 90 pitches. This is fun. Based on what CP said about him, my expectations were high, and he has met those expectations plus more.
How much more time does Kelly get? Do they keep running him out there until the AS break? Even in this weak division, we could be buried by then as the rest of our rotation is not strong enough to pick him up.
I heard that Hanley is whining that his atrocious May has been the result of getting pitched tough and hitting line drives at people. Nevermind the excuses, Hanley.
As long as you have an option, I think you have it for the entire year, so they can shuttle him back and forth as much as they like, but they would have to add him back to the 40 man roster.
Good post. The Cruz thing still has me shaking my head. It was beyond stupid. It was Baseball 101 to leave the lefty in to walk Cruz to fill the empty base and pitch to the lefty Seager.
I just don't get this move at all. They are speculating that Nava is a goner, but I don't see Peguera as a big upgrade. Also, I guess this means no Red Sox future for Allen Craig, except cashing big checks for a few years.
Also, we need to look a bit more closely at our new fan favorite, Mookie. His OBP is under .300 (.296). Whether it is bad luck of not, we need to move him out of the top of the order until his hits and walks start coming more regularly.
Counting today's game, Porcello has given up 11 home runs in 62 innings. That is exactly at twice the rate that he gave them up last season. Last year he gave up 18 Homers, and he is on pace to cough up 36 this season. That is alarming.
I think so. This team is in last place with little in the way of bright spots. They need to start changing personnel quickly. Bringing up the kid from AAA is a beginning. We will see if Wright can be consistent. It is time to break apart the horse s*** staff and rebuild in season. The hitting looks lifeless. Maybe Pedroia can light a fire in them.
