    At the top of Henry's list has to be upgrading his scouting and player development department. This group wouldn't recognize good pitching talent if a young Sandy Koufax fell on their heads. Even if they had the luck of a blind squirrel in drafting a stud pitcher, they organization has stunk at player development.

    just a typo. LOL!! If the fans had any influence over the FO, they would have re-signed Lester. Their impulsive move to get Hanley is on them. Red Sox Nation wasn't clamoring for him.

    I keep hearing how this generation of Red Sox fans is spoiled by all the recent success. I have enjoyed the World Championships immensely. Other than family events, I have had no bigger thrill than attending Game 6 in 2013. The real great powerhouse teams of 2003 to 2008 were a pleasure to watch, but the team has not been the same since those years. If we come in last place again to make it 3 out of 4 years, that will be a record for futility that I have not witnessed in my 50 years of rooting for the Sox. I never witnessed 2 last place finishes in 3 years. It is beyond belief to me to witness this.

    Sure there have been plenty of wrong moves, but I think the HanRam/Panda signings reflect an impulsivity that didn't follow any plan. It's almost like they said, "Oh, these guys are good buys. Let's take them both." It didn't matter that there was one position for the two of them. The OF was not an option for either of them. In fat, Hanley is so bad in LF, you have to ask whether Panda would do worse out there. LOL!

    signing two third basemen over the winter and sticking one of them in the outfield was not well thought out.

    lol! I should have said that it was time for him to go to the Dog Track. I misspoke.

    They need to get Johnson up to the big club fast to see what they have in him. The risk they run is that he is not the real deal and he gets exposed hurting his trade value. Whether or not they make a move for Hamels, they will need to get some veteran leader on this staff going forward.

    If the Phillies eat some of his salary and the prospect price is reasonable, Hamels would help anchor the staff for a few years to come even if he can't help push us to the post season in 2015.

    ER looks like a stud. They need to make a move for a top pitcher sooner or later. The post steroid era dictates that they strengthen their pitching. Get Hamels and hope the offense starts clicking.

    I still think there is a chance to turn this around. They will have to take some action soon.

    The team hits, pitches, fields and runs the bases poorly. It turned out to be as very balanced bad team, but let's give Ben another mulligan, because we should have hit.

    He is still sporting an atrocious ERA over 5. At least he hasstayed away from the Home Run ball. Farrell is waiting until Porcello puts this game out of reach.

    I get all the games on Direct TV, so I am watching dome good baseball instead of being subjected to Ben's Bums. But I can't resist checking back.

    Oh, I didn't realize that. In that case, both of those plays should be included in the stupid base running stat. Kimmi, do you know if the get counted in the stat?

    I am just wondering what goes into the stat. A statistic can have reliability only if the data is good. Imo, XB's play wasn't stupid as the ball went over the centerfielder's head and Jones had to play the carom perfectly and make a strong accurate throw. Panda's was a stupid play, as the difficulty for the Left fielder was much less than Jones's play and Panda is a slow runner.

    I am not sure what point you are trying to make with this information by calling it a " double whammy". Are you making the point that his performance is not his fault or is it commentary on his inability to make adjustments. I'm not sure what you meant by this.
