    Last place in ERA is not enough to sustain a team over the course of a season in a post steroid age. It doesn't matter what your offense does. The key is the last part of your post. We need a couple of new starters. That is all we need. Our hitting will do enough over the course of the season.

    I am with you on that. It was like he was improvising in the off season with no plan. And Panda makes another error. His belly got in the way this time-- not his fault, definitely not Ben's fault.

    I never believed it, but people were posting that before the season started. Bogaerts has improved since last year. That has been nice to see. On the other hand, Hanley has been atrocious -- much worse than I had expected. The rest are what I had expected. As a team they are about league average maybe a little below.

    Panda lost that ball in a fat fold. His 5th error of the season. Where is this plus defense that I read so much about in the off season. I never believed it at that time.

    Pedroia and his stinking hitting streak need to be sent packing. He and his unbridled enthusiasm are a drag on this team.

    Our season is saved. This should help our pitching more than it will help our offense.

    This is true, but even if we are better than a last place team, we are probably only a third place team with little hope of competing for the post season unless changes are made. They could turn things around. I am hoping that they do, but i can only see it happening if we get 2 new effective starters. Rodriguez or Johnson hopefully will settle into one of the spots and we need to get a pitcher via a trade. That is what I think it will take. You can rail about the offense, but our starters have the worst ERA in all of baseball two months into the season. That isn't going to cut it even if our lineup turns into murderers row.
