    I am not the stat guy, but he has probably earned his salary over the last two seasons with the Jays taking into consideration the inflated market for starting pitchers. He pitched over 200 innings each season striking out 170+ batters each year and winning 14 games each year. The prospects that the Mets got in return haven't done much yet.

    No team in the history of baseball has finished last 3 out of 4 years while carrying one of the biggest payrolls in the game in each of those years. This would be historically bad if they go into the tank again.

    We have plenty of bats. We have one pitcher with 3 career starts. The other 4 stink or in the case of buchholz, he is Forest Gump's box of chocolates.

    I disagree. They will hit. There is much more of a possibility of the offense turning it around than our starters improving.

    They have a lot of guys with really good track records as hitters. Our starting pitchers have no such track record.

    In many ways it is a crap shoot, and our scouts have been getting more than our share of crap.

    The difference is that the team has talent on the offense, and it will turn it around and perform better. There is no talent on the starting pitching staff ecept for ER and Buch in streaks. The rest are mediocre lumps.

    We could lose this game by 5 or 6 runs after being ahead by 7 runs. Unbelievable. This really needs to be Kelly's final start. He should have been able to shift to cruise control with a 7 run lead. He should have been able to get through 7.
