  1. It would be a pleasure to watch a player of his quality toe the rubber for us after the horrible garbage that we have seen. Plus, we need a big pitcher for next season.
  2. Ortiz gets a bye from me. If others want to rag on him, that is their prerogative, but it is not deserved considering his past contributions.
  3. CFer almost misjudged the ball and let it fall in.
  4. Hamels gets the no-no on a fly out by Bryant. Will his next start be in a Red Sox uniform?
  5. Hamels k's Fowler for the second out and 13th K. He faces Rookie phenom Kris Bryant with 2 outs.
  6. Hamels is about to start the 9th with a no-no intact. He has 12 ks' He is at 112 pitches
  7. We are waiting for him to stop stinking. Let's have a vigil why we wait.
  8. Beats being called gramps. I havent gotten there yet.
  9. At least he has some use.
  10. You have the power to make him a successful Troll.
  11. Was the coach even thinking about the fact that the strongest OF arm in baseball is playing LF for the other team or that he had a 40 year old big DH on second or that it is a very short throw from LF or that there were no outs? This should have all occurred to him before the ball was hit. He should have decided before the pitch to hold Ortiz at third unless Cespedes fell down and even then only if the ball went behind him. It was colossally stupid for a man who has spent his life in baseball to send Ortiz in that situation.
  12. And I don't care how early Butterball get to the park at Spring training and how hard he works. He stinks as a third base coach.
  13. We have lost way too many runners on the bases this season. Farrell's teams have a history of running into stupid outs. I am sick of it.
  14. So Butterball runs with Ortiz on the strongest OF arm on a ball to short LF in Fenway with no outs? f***ing idiot.
  15. David Ortiz is one of the few reasons to watch this team game in and game out.
  16. He is on the DL. Of course Jacko will enjoy that. And if you let him know that his post got to you, he has even more fun. You have yourselves to thank for that.
  17. We need Pedey to get back in the lineup and get back in the groove. I see that he has been DL'd again. I hope Napoli finds his second half magic and we don't trade him for a bag of balls. Today, we are throwing our knuckler but they are trotting a pig to the mound too. We can win this at Fenway.
  18. I am watching this show on MLB about Randy Johnson. We started to have a discussion about the pitchers in this Hall of Fame class (Pedro, Randy Johnson and Smoltz). I posed the question if you had to win one game or one series, which of the three in his prime you would pick for your team. There was agreement that it would be Pedro -- not even close. Of course, we are Red Sox fans, but I think it is a no-brainer. It would be a really nice problem to have. After Pedro, who would be next? At that point, Big Schill's name came up. He was a contemporary of all three. And I am a biased Red Sox fan, but I would have to go with Big Schill. Remember that he was past his prime when we got him and he was still lights out in the post season. In his prime, I remember feeling more confident with him facing the Yankees than Johnson in 2001. Johnson had the better Series, but they were both fantastic -- Co-MVPs. This question is not a no-brainer like it is with Pedro, but the fact that I think he would be in this debate highlights for me that Schilling deserves to be enshrined with these guys. There is no doubt about that.
  19. Game Time 4:05 pm ET Pitching Matchup Preview DET: Alfredo Simon (8-6, 4.63) BOS: Steven Wright (3-3, 4.84) It is time to start a winning streak. Give us something to cheer about with the added benefit putting pressure on the FO "Pukes" (see Spud) to make some moves and not give them the cop out excuse that this team is out of it and that they are going to take their time patiently planning for the future. I hope Naps gets scorching hot and we win out the next week so the overpaid suits with the pea-sized brains will be in a dilemma whether to buy or sell. They are bound to make the wrong decision considering their history. LOL!!
  20. I am a firm believer that when filling a defensive position by moving a player to a new position that it be done without a domino effect of moving other players out of position. If you field a defense with 2 or more players playing out of position, you will have a bad defense. I would not move Pablo to first and Hanley to third for that reason. I would move Hanley to first base leaving Panda at third. Only play one player out of position. I would start working on that this season to see if Hanley has any aptitude to make the move to 1B.
  21. Pete, you have my awesome gt mojo to thank for your good fortune. I started the gt for our only win against the Yankees too. The horrible losing streak had to end and could not be hanging over Fenway for Pedro's induction weekend. So when you look at your shiny new tool, remember that you have me to thank. Lol!
  22. He was also right about us winning the Division.
  23. Nice walk off hit. Xander has been our best hitter with RISP this year. He has mad a giant leap forward with his hitting and defense. This is two nights in a row where walk off hits have bee reviewed -- very annoying.
