  1. And once again, the stats backup what I already knew about the Red Sox.
  2. Tailon has been dominating AAA this season and will make his 2016 debut with the Pirates on Wednesday.
  3. Yep. It happened quickly.
  4. The pitching is not and has not been good, and it has not been just one bad turn through the rotation. I agree.
  5. Every one of Farrell's teams ran the bases like mindless little leaguers. It was so bad in Toronto that Omar Vizquel (a very well respected veteran and borderline Hall of famer) noted that the Blue jay running game was bizarre.
  6. This is accurate. No dispute from me. You advocated to get him at the beginning. I did not, but I had no other preferred candidate. While I don't have a high opinion of Farrell's in-game moves, I have no particular issue with the job that he has done this year. My bar is low for managers as you know. I don't have a very high opinion of any managers. Farrell is within the margin of error one way or the other when comparing him to other managers.
  7. Only because it hasn't happened yet, but I am confident enough to place a wager.
  8. Kapler then.
  9. Yeah, I am sure that will hold.
  10. Over the Hill Sabathia is over the hill. I wouldn't expect much from him if I were you, unless your bar is somewhere around a prolonged DL stint and an alcohol relapse.
  11. He hated it here, so screw him. I'd prefer to coax Damon out of retirement. LOL!!
  12. Thanks. I also have that message, but I have not clicked on it.
  13. This rotation is not good enough. That is no melodrama. The offense is not going to regularly put up double digits, and this is a bottom half pitching staff. DD had better get some reinforcements. Edit: Now is the time to be facing Toronto. Their lineup is in a collective slump, and Tulo is down with an injury. Their offense is only going to get better. Over the Hill, CC had a quality start against them this week giving up only 2 runs.
  14. No Quality Start in any of those games. If the starter can't give you a quality start which needs to equate to nothing more than a a 4.50 era, you are not doing the job. In one of those games, Kelly gave up 7 runs in 2 innings, but did not get the loss.
  15. This rotation has been exposed. The team managed to lose game in the last week where they scored 9, 9 and 7 runs.
  16. Brothers are funny like that when it comes to their sisters.
  17. He is new at playing the OF. He plays hard and they threw him into the outfield in the major leagues with almost no experience in Fenway's LF with all the angles, lack of foul territory, bolts extruding from the scoreboard etc. It was an accident waiting to happen. Enough of these LF experiments! They don't work.
  18. Buh Bye to his trade value.
  19. People say stuff about poor folks too.
  20. Everything has a price tag. That price gets lower if you need an income to eat.
  21. Imagine if he didn't have $14 million and people were still saying that about him and he had to live with them.
  22. Fair enough, but that is probably not representative of others.
  23. That isn't true at all. In Boston, the star players had no private lives. Ted Williams was criticized about his marriages and parenting. And on and on. To the extent that there is more intrusion on player's private lives today, it is more than compensated for by the lucrative money.
  24. There is an acute awareness that the ball is coming at you at a very high and deadly velocity. There isn't too much daydreaming at home plate. Like Yogi Berra used to say, you cant think and hit at the same time.
  25. I walked away from a good paying job, but I didn't have to worry about feeding my family or paying my bills. Without that luxury, I am still working that job.
