  1. The pay is irrelevant to the comparison of their performances for the 2016 team. Is that too difficult for you to understand? Maybe this pop quiz will clear up the issue. Who would you rather have on the mound for the Red Sox in an important game== Price or Buchholz? it is really that simple.
  2. Showalter never laughs. He is a humorless human being if he is human at all.
  3. They preach patience for Buch but s*** all over Price before half the season has been completed. Then they will complain about the win it now mentality forcing the FO to make ill advised moves. Their patience is non existent for Price or Kimbrel who are genuine top talents. They deserve a roster full of Craig Hansens and other great Home grown pitchers.
  4. Well, they can side with the Bambino about Price. The Bambino here just to poke prod and troll. They are on good company.
  5. Oh Boy Jenks! I saw the last time he went to a major league mound. He couldn't get through his warmups. He got winded. We got less from him than we have gotten from Castillo or Craig.
  6. Let him get it all out. It's the Internet version of primal screaming. It is cathartic.
  7. pretty sure you missed the point, because it was my point that you had commented about. The point is that Price is not the problem/ weakness on the Red Sox. He may not perform up to his contract, but this team has some real holes that need to be addressed.
  8. i don't have to justify his salary. I am glad that you are on the other side of the argument. It puts some of my fellow Talk Sox members in the awkward position of agreeing with you. LOL! Unlike them who I respect, you I can just call a fool if you think Price is the problem for the Red Sox. I am sure that you would rather have your Bronx Dirt Bags face Price instead of Buch or our random #5.
  9. On a day when the Red Sox scored a big goose egg, Price had an off day giving up 4 runs and striking out 10 in 6 1/3 inning. He had a bit of an off day. He didn't blow up on the mound. On most days for the Red Sox that is a good enough performance to win the game. People are really getting hysterical about the one really solid pitcher on the staff. You all must want to throw yourselves off a roof when Buch and random #5 pitches.
  10. A trademark of Farrell teams. When the team is going well these things get overlooked, but they are inexcusable. The blame goes directly to the coaching staff. We have seen this pattern for much too long with Farrell.
  11. if this team ends up in the crapper, it will not be because of Price. He is underperforming right now, but he will be a solid contributor. He has had some very solid games this year where he went deep into games. We get none of that from the 4 and 5 spots. Zero. Those guys are helpless. If Price puts up 200 innings with 17 wins and a 4.25 ERA, I am not going to be pulling my hair out of my head, because it is a pretty solid contribution. It is not up to his standards and it is not worth the money, but if we had 5 guys that could do that, we should be competitive for most of the year, although we would probably miss the playoffs. I think he will get his ERA under 4. And I don't give a rats ass whether he lives up to $30 million in 2016. He gives us a chance to win every time he takes the ball. That is all I want from a starter and the 4 and 5 spots don't give us that. The 4th and 5th spots are forfeit spots. If you think Price is the problem on this roster that is being seriously short-sighted and misguided. Talk about a lack of patience.
  12. He will do better. Where is the patience that you preach? You have one stud in the rotation and you are all over him after 3 months of a 7 year contract. The problem is not Price, Wright or Porcello. We will not win every one of their games, but they give us a chance. The other 2 spots are like putting gas cans on the mound. They are the problem. The problems are what needs to be addressed. This reminds me of your argument last year how our offense (which ended up as one of the top offenses in baseball) was responsible for the Red Sox not being in first place when it was clearly the entire pitching staff that was broken.
  13. 5 games behind the Orioles and half a game ahead of the Blue Jays.
  14. You have to laugh at such boobery from a manager.
  15. June Swoon. I have seen this many times before.
  16. If he were our # 5 we would be the team to beat.
  17. Losing games started by Price really hurts. Thank goodness tomorrow is an off-day and they can skip the #5 spot.
  18. Shush, don't be giving away my strategy.
  19. 10 k's and 4 runs -- a strange outing by Price, but you can't win without scoring a run. We have helped give the Rays a boost to their morale. Is there another slumping team that we could help revive?
  20. After seeing Moore today, should DD inquire about him?
  21. Bradley saved Moore during the one period when he was struggling.
  22. Maybe Gray will insult Billy Beane and we can take advantage of Beane.
  23. And Vasquez led off the next inning with a base hit, compounding the stupidity.
