  1. And you think that they haven't been working with Price all season long?
  2. WTH is Betts doing? Lincecum can't throw strikes but he gives away an out on the bases -- a gift. He cost us a run. Farrell teams run like idiots.
  3. Price is going to figure it out on his own if he figures it out. Guru pitching coaches at the major league level are mythical. The organization's efforts would have more concrete results if they get another pitcher to fill the back of the rotation.
  4. If the Yankees get Giollito for Miller, that would be a major score.
  5. The footwork is much different at First Base. He can't make effective throws to second base at all. He lobs his throws. Last night, when he actually tried to put a little steam on his throw, he airmailed it. I have no confidence in him on throwing plays.
  6. WE took our 20 year old daughter to Disneyland last Xmas. That is nice. Most 20 year olds don't want to spend a vacation alone with parents. I still don't think the whole FO made the trip to the coast for pleasure, especially since they are all at the ballpark.
  7. What about vegetarian?
  8. Hanley cannot make plays requiring that he throw the ball. He is just awful at that aspect.
  9. I was wondering the same thing.
  10. If we can hate on Papelbon, Koji is fair game.
  11. They should learn to wipe with their non-pitching hands.
  12. Yeah, but her mother and father aren't taking her.
  13. The innings that we are getting from those 3 is not a problem. The problem has been what we get out of the other 2 spots. "Management is responsible for getting the best performances they can out of all their players. They have not done this with Price." Wut? Is DD supposed to give Price a clinic on pitching? This is just not how it works at the major league level.
  14. I was thinking the same thing. It would take 3 hits to score him and it would definitely hurt run production.
  15. I am usually very cynical and prone to conspiracy theories. I just remember that people really went nuts. How is this for a very bad management decision -- Starbucks changing its rewards program?
  16. He is clearly pitching below his career norms, but he is still giving us innings which is critical for the team and he has not been atrocious. He has pitched more like a 3/4 than a #1. But he is not going anywhere no matter how much people whine. He will either right his own ship or not. Management cannot do anything about it. Management can improve other obviously flawed aspects of this team. Hopefully, they are working on that and they are not sitting wringing their hands over David Price.
  17. Koji is 41. Tazawa and Kimbrel are in their 20's
  18. The 10 seconds should start to run from the conclusion of the play whether or not the manager comes out of the dugout.
  19. LOL!! New Coke!! One of the stupidest management decisions of all time. They had a product that sold itself and they completely changed it. The backlash was so severe it almost rose to the level of a revolt. They spent millions on focus grouping that decision etc, and they couldn't have been more wrong. LOL!! And they were run by top business people unlike the ex-jocks, toadies and dopes in major league front offices.
  20. I completely agree. I don't think replay should be used to split hairs on guys coming off the base by 1/2 an inch. The plays on the bases are almost always called correctly by the umpires. If the call looks wrong to the managers naked eye, that is when he should challenge. This waiting for video confirmation before a challenge wastes time unnecessarily. Give the manager 10 seconds to challenge so they don't have the time to be communicating with a video booth. Replay should be used to correct the obviously wrong calls -- not too split hairs.
  21. He probably played at around 155 lbs -- maybe a little more if he was taller than I remember. A lot of Middle Infielders weighed 150-160 lbs back then. Today the ballboys weigh over 200 lbs.
  22. Marlins get Cashner and Rea
  23. Trout probably beats that throw anyway. It was scored a hit.
