  1. You clearly know nothing about game management.
  2. I would have the kid steal with Holt up.
  3. Nice hit for the kid. Did that cost the Res Sox anything off years of control? LOL!
  4. Yes, but Farrell made the wrong decision, because the team lost.
  5. We really resuscitated the Twins. They are kicking the crap out of the Indian pitching the last 3 days.
  6. Yep, and whether an opinion is hindsight or not doesn't invalidate the opinion. The issue of whether a manager made the wrong move or not doesn't depend on hindsight or foresight. Managers are always second -guessed -- even years and decades later. We know that the manager made the wrong decision last night, because his team lost, but what we can never know is whether there would have been a different outcome if he had done things differently.
  7. And it is a manager's job to slow that down. Like I said, you would never catch LaRussa would never get caught with his pants down like that.
  8. The proper term for that infraction is momo, not Goober.
  9. He might be. I will let you know, since you don't know much about late inning management.
  10. No, I didn't overlook that. Yes, Barnes saved his ass for 1 batter, but that doesn't change the fact that he went Barnes too late. And if Abad got a DP from Cano, we are not having this discussion, but I would still think that Farrell took too long going to the pen.
  11. I can assure you that I would still be criticizing Farrell if one of our other pitchers pitched last night's game, but you are an avowed Price hater, and if another pitcher pitched last night's game, you might not have blamed Farrell, but I don't think you would have hung the loss on a starter other than Price. Hanging the loss on Price Is ludicrous since he wasn't in the game to face the winning run. The loss gets hung on Abad for giving up the the 3 run dinger or Farrell for bad managing.
  12. At that point the Mariners were another base runner and 2 productive outs away from tying the game when he handed Barnes the ball.
  13. Hindsight or not. Farrell was slow to react in a game situation. Was there any reason for him not to pop out of the dugout after the Zunino HR to settle him down or ask how he felt or inquire if his leg was stiffening up after getting hit with a liner an inning before? He just sat there and let circumstances get out of hand. Again, I will state why he reacted too late in going to the pen. He handed the ball to the pen in a situation where an infield single or a walk and a couple of productive outs would tie the game. That is not much of a margin for error.
  14. Not a single person has argued that Abad was not the right matchup for Cano. That has not been the issue at all.
  15. Someone should post a poll on whether Slasher's posts about last nights game would be the same if Porcello had been the pitcher instead of Price. LOL!
  16. You calling out Spud for alleged hindsight for wanting to go to the pen after the 7th doesn't change the fact that Farrell let the game get away. You never would have seen that late game managing from LaRussa -- never. He remained engaged and alert in the late innings.
  17. The long Home Run by the Mendoza-line hitting Zunino.
  18. In real time, a number of posters were calling for the pen before Farrell finished his snooze -- maybe he was making a post game meal decision.
  19. You must be a debating champion.
  20. No Farrell did. Price can't take himself out of the game.
