Exacttly. Iglesias is an example of a guy who found something in his offensive game. He didn't find Ted Williams to hit .400, but he figured out how to produce enough to be an every day SS in the bigs. He hurt us badly in our last series against the Tigers.

Agreed. He will not hit .360 for the rest of his career or even the rest of the season, but for him hitting .260 with an OBP of 3.25 would be a big turnaround and enough to keep him in the big leagues. It is not as much of a long shot as you might think.

How many dead teams have the Red Sox revived on home stands? We revivedthe White Sox -- coming within an extra-inning game of getting swept 4 games. We brought the Tigers back into the Wild Card chase, and lost 3 of 4 to the Twinkies. Now we lose to the Yankees who have waved the white flag on the season. Next up, the D'Backs.

Can't watch it. 20 minutes of human interest stories for every 5 minutes of competition. Enough already. Televise the events. I don't care if the athlete's father was a one-eyed -proof reader who worked 20 hour days and still found the time to drive him 100 miles each day to practice. I really don't care.

What a crazy start> Segura hits a lazy flie to CF and Bradley trips and falls on his back turning the ball into a triple. On the very next pitch the batter hits a soft liner that Bradley got a poor jump on but he catches it on the run throws it home and the catcher throws to 3rd to catch the runner going back to 3B. I never saw a game start like that. And yet Price still finds a way to give up 2 runs in the first inning to this horseshit lineup.

Your recollection is correct. It was after the single after the home run in the 8th inning that most of us new that he was toast. UN's blind cat knew that he was toast after the second single. Farrell did not.

But if Farrell thought the count was 2-2, he should have questioned it. The fact that neither the runner, first base coach, nor the manager questioned the count meant that none of them knew.

You want him to keep track of the count on the batter too. We are lucky if he knows the inning.
