  1. Our bullpen is more like a pigpen and every night we get to see a parade of pigs in the late innings!
  2. Is Kimbrel available tonight?
  3. Sometimes the pitching has to pick up the hitting. They haven't done much of that this season.
  4. I would have pinch run for Ortiz, but I would have used a position player or a bullpen puke, not one of our few good starters. Wright hasn't scored a run in a game since high school. It is quite a bit more intense at the major league level. It was an accident waiting to happen and it did happen. Stupidity justly rewarded. i never said that Farrell should have gone to the pen after the first inning. Get some decaf and calm down.
  5. i am not at all giving the players a free pass. I am fully aware of how much our bullpen stinks. I am saying that brain dead Farrell made very bad choices in the game. Taking out Buch after 3 pitches was pointless and stupid. If he had so much faith in Barnes, he should have brought him in the 6th to get out of the jam and let him continue in the 7th. Apparently, he did not have faith enough in him to go to him in that situation. And bringing in a pitchers other that a lefty specialist for just 3 pitches is a waste. Also, I didn't praise Girardi's genius. I don't have a high regard for any manager, never mind thinking they are brilliant. LOL!
  6. I hope that he is wearing a shinguard
  7. The statements are absolutely not mutually exclusive. A blind squirrel finds the occasional nut. Even the biggest dope of a manager makes some right moves. Of course the players have responsibility for winning or losing games. Who is giving them a free pass? The manager is supposed to utilize the personnel in the best manner to get a positive outcome. He is supposed to know the right guy on the roster for the right situation. Farrell had a good arm on the mound and removed him after 3 pitches. Buch has done well in relief, but after 3 pitches he decided to go to his Forest Gump "Box of Chocolates". If Buch get him through the 7th, he van go to his more reliable late inning guys. The offense produced a lot of base runners and did score 4 runs and likely would have scored more if Buttermilk didn't send a runner to his death at home plate with one out and Ortiz on deck. I lump coaching mistakes in with the manager by extension. And once in a while the pitching has to win games and pick up the offense when it puts up 4 or less runs. Buch should have had no problem throwing to a few more batters without endangering his Saturday start -- which by the way, he wouldn't be making if brain dead Farrell didn't use Wright as a pich runner.
  8. Farrell did the right thing in removing Pomeranz after putting on 2 base runners in the 6th, but replacing Buch after 3 pitches was beyond stupid. If Buch pitches a clean 7th, we get to hand Taz the ball with a 4-1 lead to start the 8th. Farrell has no game sense. He either leaves pitchers in until they are overcooked and the game is almost gone or he is making changes ridiculously fast.
  9. He should have run some garbage bullpen guy, not one our better starters. It was an accident waiting to happen, especially for a knuckle ball pitcher. For Wright, a jammed finger or broken nail can cause him big problems. And they did not even send him out there with a wrist guard or special protection for his hands. I see position players wearing that stuff. Brett Gardner wears a mitten. It was an extremely stupid move by Farrell, and he did nothing to protect his pitchers hand when he sent him out there. As for the pitcher's code, that goes out the window in a 1 run game. Blanton's career is day to day. If he can pick off an inexperienced base runner in that situation, he is going to do it. There is no blame on Blanton. He has to make a living and try to keep his job. He didn't throw over in a blowout game.
  10. True. They let a lot of opportunities go by. Still they put up 4 runs and had a 4-1 lead going into the 7th inning. It is time for the pitchers to step up and do the job. Giving up 5 runs in the 7th and 3 more in the 8th is not doing the job. It is a surrender.
  11. How has Bradley been doing against lefties?
  12. That doesnt look good. He got hit right on the shin.
  13. It is what is not in the guy == the same thing that the strawman didn't have.
  14. I believe that the point was to be insensitive, and there is nothing wrong with that. You were telling the guy to get lost because he sucks. You did not insult his ethnicity or anything like that. You told him that you wanted him to go home. Home in his case is Japan. LOL!!! PC weenies.
  15. Is there a place further away than japan that we could send him and Farrell?
  16. Taz has given up a few of those lately. This game was given away.
  17. He was going by the scoreboard count. He has no idea what is going on. His pants were managed off innings ago. He is sitting there with no pants on and confused like a baby with a lump in his diaper.
  18. He managed the pants off of dumbass Farrell and our idiot coaching staff tonight.
  19. They don't know what the count is on Benintendi?
  20. Buch looked like he had good stuff too, but 3 pitches were enough.
  21. The manager is a joke. The third base coach is a joke and the bullpen is a joke.
