  1. It doesn't mean "suck a lemon"? Go figure. Shrugs. LOL!!!
  2. People without our long tenure rooting for the Red Sox don't understand that prior to 2004 we were not suffering through decades of futility. Most seasons the Red Sox were competitive and exciting. It was disappointing when the season ended, but there was plenty of enjoyment during the season. Finishing in last place is just a daily torture with almost no excitement or enjoyment.
  3. I do remember those days, and back then, I might have made that deal if such a deal could be made. The hypothetical is itself is ridiculous. Going back to the days when I gladly would have made that ridiculously unreal hypothetical deal, I had never experienced three last place finishes in four years. Winning a championship is glorious fun and the glow lasts into the following season. Finishing last is an excruciating daily ordeal for 6 months. Trading one year of glory for 3 years of suffering is something that I don't want to live through after having experienced both ends of the spectrum.
  4. Citifield is a much friendlier fly ball satdium than Fenway Park. I am concerned.
  5. I'd go with Workman.
  6. Great game by Fister!!
  7. Gio Gonzalez with 3 outs to go for the no-nobin a 1-0 game in Miami.
  8. Somebody mentioned it earlier today, but we have several hitters who have trouble recognizing and handling the slider. Xander is lost against the slider as are most of our hitters. Next question. Why don't more of our pitchers throw the slider?
  9. The Guardians have elevated only 2 balls against him over 5 innings. One was a fly out and the other a hit but the runner was cut down trying to stretch to a Double. This is how Fister pitched when he was at the top of his game.
  10. That was the first hit that Cleveland elevated against Fister.
  11. And cheated on her too!! He da man!
  12. Nunez is raking.
  13. The over/under is 10 on how many feet Butterball gets Moreland thrown out by at the plate on a Mookie hit.
  14. Beane is an asshat who believes his own press clippings.
  15. It was a panic move bringing him up.
  16. Devers looks overmatched at this level. Don't you think so? His self esteem could take a hit and set back his development.
  17. We gave up 3 nobodies who are extremely likely to remain nobodies.
  18. Cashman ate DD's lunch at the deadline -- Robertson, Frazier, Kahnle, Garcia and Gray plus Int'l signing space.
  19. His content is good. His sense of humor is good, but he has to caffeinate.
  20. When the ball kicks off that wall, you never send the runner. it is a very short throw once it is picked up.
  21. Another stupid out on the bases. Why make the last out by 15 feet at home plate when you are in the middle of your order against one of their bottom of the rotation pitchers. Edit: Just so stupid. If the next batter get a hit, we score 2 more runs, not one more.
  22. Maybe we can get Alan Craig back. LOL!!
  23. Fister is a sinker-baller who needs to keep the ball low. He will give up some ground ball hits that find holes when he is pitching well. He needs to keep them from lifting the ball.
  24. He is a big guy with excellent power.
