On the field, he is a great player, but he has revealed himself to be a douche over the years. I still don'y understand why Price was mad at Eck, but he has been bizarrely thin skinned. I am surprised that Pedroia would have joined in going after Eck because he has been in Boston for so long and seen much tougher critics than Eck.

I never saw your post as I stepped away from my computer after my post. My answer is that my lineup would include a player that we haven't acquired. I realize that you took my post as a slam at Farrell, but it wasn't. It was a slam at our offense.

I don't think they want him sitting on the bench. Unfortunately, Devers talked his family out of coming to Seattle to see his debut and told them to wait until the team returned to Boston. They may have to wait until September.

Spud for manager! While we didn't expect a public flogging, the Red Sox should have considered it to generate ratings and interest in the team. Trading one of his posse to Philadelphia the next day would have sent a loud message.

Kimmi to paraphrase Winston Churchill, you always come to the right decision after exhausting all the alternatives. The truth is that Farrell should have been fired after the 2015 season and Lovullo should have been named manager, regardless of Farrell's cancer. John Henry is a weak executive and didn't do what needed to be done. Now Lovullo is in Arizona, and we are stuck with this hapless fool who is running this High payroll Cadillac roster into the ground. We should be leading this division comfortably with this roster.

My first thought when I heard breaking news on JF was that he was being fired. When I heard the cancer diagnosis, I hoped that he would be okay, but my next thought was that they would not fire him now that he had cancer.

We are in a tailspin now. The Yankees were in a tailspin before the All Star break. Our tailspin should not be as bad as theirs because we have the Ace starting pitching to win some low scoring games. Mookie will start to hit and the offense will get a boost. i still think that DD should get a RH first baseman with power before the trading deadline.
