  1. What about 2012 and 2015? Three years in last place is not a fluke.
  2. He was just awful at putting together a viable pitching staff. Injuries don't land a championship team in last place.
  3. Their 2016 norms were influenced by a lineup anchored by Ortiz, so that is not really their norms.
  4. Gray to the Yankees is “somewhere between likely to inevitable,” according to Sherman, who reports that the trade could happen Sunday. An executive who has been involved in Gray talks told Sherman that the Yankees are “holding firm” in what they’re willing to offer because they’re not convinced there are any other serious bidders. In case their negotiations with the A’s collapse, the Yankees are discussing starters with other teams as fallback options, per Sherman.
  5. Where was that plan or strategy in 2012, '14 and '15?
  6. I hope that you are right, but I am not so optimistic about the offense. Betts and Bogaerts still look lackluster. Moreland is still sucking. I saw nothing very encouraging from Benintendi.
  7. I am a big believer in that a force like Ortiz in the lineup has a cascading effect for the rest of the lineup.
  8. What happened on that play? They sent him after the throw? That was close to a disaster.
  9. That was you booing? LOL!!
  10. They almost got him thrown out at the plate again. LOL!! And they may have blinded Nunez with that Flour Bomb.
  11. Will Butterworth get Leon thrown out by 10 or 15 feet at home on a hit?
  12. none of them are having terrible seasons, just not as good as last year when they were all living on Papi's coat tails.
  13. Bogaerts killed the whole game with his terrible hitting and base running blunders that cost a minimum of 2 runs. Aside from that, we need a good hitter to start taking Moreland's ABs.
  14. It should not have been an either/or choice. If DD thought Sale was the last piece for the championship, he was wrong. He neglected the big missing piece on offense. If you are going balls to the wall for the championship, you don't miss a big piece like that.
  15. It is not reasonable to expect MVP level performance from Betts year in and year out. That is not reasonable for anyone not named Trout.
  16. We just need a better hitter than Moreland standing at the plate for those pitches.
  17. I think this sums it up pretty well.
  18. Getting out managed by Ned Yost is like losing a game of Jeopardy to a bowling ball.
  19. 3 errors resulting in 2 unearned runs plus 2 base running blunders that cost the offense multiple runs and sprinkle in a starting pitcher that can't get beyond 4 innings and it adds up to a very likely well-deserved loss.
  20. This is a team that doesn't come from behind in games.
  21. We are playing like a AA club tonight.
  22. Not if all that money hadn't been wasted on Pablow.
  23. Maybe we spoke too soon about Devers D.
  24. What will Bogey do on the bases this time?
  25. Nunez is the best offensive player that we have had at 3B this year.
