LOL! I don't trust anyone else behind the wheel, so I am a very alert passenger, and if you see something you warn the driver. My only point is that our coaches are not alert passengers. They are napping passengers, which is okay except for the fact that they are being paid to be alert.

He is doing better than expected through 3 innings today.

Before he lost his range, he could go into the SS hole and throw across his body to first base while continuing toward 3B without stopping, planting or jumping. When I first saw him make that play in person, I was astonished. It didn't seem physically possible. It was not a mirage, and it was truly extraordinary. It was much better than Jeter's jump throw. The only criticism of that play by Nomar was that his throws curved and were not true resulting in some extra time getting to first base. All of his throws followed that path.

i was fairly certain about the rule on that play until he said that he didn't know the rule, and Farrell challenged the play. When that happened, I started to wonder about the rule.

His fielding had deteriorated at that point. His range was gone. His hands were never very good.

Do you see what happens when you are texting while walking? Let this be a lesson to you. Addressing the the green light scenario, my point still stands. An alert passenger should still shout "Look Out!" if he saw it coming.

That isn't Marrero or Pablo or Rutledge. Are those numbers over a full season? I am guessing that they are Leon's from last year. What is your point?

But Wouldn't you yell "Stop Sign!" when you realized that she was about to go through it. My Dad did that with me when I first got my license and I didn't get to use the car for 2 weeks. If I had gotten T-boned and hospitalized, the lesson would have been learned a whole different way and he would not have chastised me, but he would have tried to prevent it by yelling "stop sign." Coaches are supposed to be aware of everything going on on the field. They are not there to wear the spare uniforms and take up space.

until we added the two bats to the lineup, we didn't have that many good hitters. The bottom of our order has been a black hole. No offense from third base or catcher for most of the year. When you have 2 black holes, you only need 2 or 3 others to slump and run production grinds to a halt.

So the rest of them stink at their job is an excuse. Let's face it, the star brainiacs of an organization are not usually the first base coaches.

If Porcello can limit them to 1 HR or 2 solo shots, he will have done his job and given us a chance to win. Unfortunately, far too often this season he has given up multiple homers and multi run Homers. He has been a #4/5 at best this season-- a shadow of a Cy Young pitcher.

I disagree about what the coaches should have been doing on that play. They are there to observe and communicate. If they were watching the play develop, they should have noticed that the umps did not signal for The infield fly rule and they should have been yelling instructions like crazy. Whether it would have made a difference cannot be known, because Bradley was heading for the dugout. I have seen plays where the batter is heading for the dugout and a fielder drops the ball and the batter runs to first base. Unless Bradley was in the dugout, Amaro should have yelled to him. He didn't, because he had no idea what was going on. He stood there like a doofus like our coaches usually do. If Dick Williams was the manager, the coaches and the players would have gotten an earful after he was finished with the umpires.

For a guy who believed in short term signings, he left us with a ton of useless money on long term dea, but that was LL... right? Even Rusney was LL.... right? Ben had a knack of even ruining his short term signings. He made a great 1 yr deal with Napoli for 2013, but then gave him 2 more years for 0 return. Also, how can you justify a 5 yr plan where you finish last 3 times and still have a $200 million in payroll. That was money down the toilet. You should be able to field a .500 team for $209 million. Atrocious.
