The FO is in love with the thought that they might have a young superstar, so his results don't matter. He would have to s*** on himself several times to lose the job to guys deserving a chance.

4.72 ERA is stinking for the entire year, not just tonight. Why doesn't he go back to his bread and butter -- his hard sinking fastball? As soon as he starts elevating looking for K's, he gets in trouble. Look at how well Fister did against the Guardians when he mastered his sinker. They didn't lift a ball out of the IF until the 4th inning.

I don't think we can get into the press room, and if we did and somehow had the opportunity to ask a question, I am pretty sure that we would get one of JF's tortured rationalized answers that says nothing. I will just assign blame, until I see evidence that it is not a coaching issue.

He was terrible at constructing pitching staffs. I was very active criticizing his construction of the pitching staff. I thought he was clueless in going for volume so-called "depth" over quality.

Magnitude? That connotes importance. Most of these guys will never have their name sewn on an MLB uniform. What you were demonstrating was "volume" not "magnitude". I liken it to a pile. You attach significance to the pile. I think it to be rather insignificant. And let's not forget that some of this top 3 pile (based on opinions) was used to elevate the club from last place to first place (real performance), and I place more importance on the performance of the major league club than the opinions about our farm system.
