With regards to things as subjective as sports, it isn't easy to change my mind, because I have pretty good judgment and know the game very well. Changing my mind when I know that I am right would not be a virtue.

When most of those old timers played, a 6 footer was considered tall. And for most of their careers Mantle and Yaz were listed as 6' on their baseball cards. Those were the big guys.

At least I did not disparage you as you did with me. And what is immature is this notion that winning a championship in the midst of 3 last place finishes is some kind of reasonable hypothetical that someone can opt for. I am entitled to my opinion, and as an older guy who has lived through all the ups and downs since 1967, it is my opinion that the 3 last place finishes with a $200 million payrolls was the worst job of any Red Sox GM in my lifetime. That's my opinion, and if you disagree, go tell it to someone else, because you are not going to convince me that Ben the Boob was not the worst. He is a coffee caddie right now, and that speaks volumes too. If Cashman wanted him, he may have heard about Ben's Macchiatos, but he wasn't bringing him in to be the GM.

Another instance where the advanced metrics are misleading/wrong. This table includes pitchers, and we have some monsters on our staff. Our position players are the shortest in the league. I will go out on this limb without researching. If I wasn't clear, I was only talking about our position players. Our pitchers are on the tall side.

You convinced me, but for the life of me I can't understand why such a superstar like Ben the Boob is only a Coffee Caddie now. BYE we have 4 Championships in 10 years -- not 5. Three years of last place was torturous for me, so I will not forget how bad he was any time soon. Also, we are still living with his financially disastrous contracts.

The only thing that was a panic move about bringing up Devers is that it is a panic for the fans to see a kid hit like this. Seriously, I think that the only part of his game that they were concerned about was his defense. He was clearly ready with his bat. And it really wasn't a panic move to bring him up with his defensive questions, because we were rolling out one guy after another who blamed ground balls like they were hand grenades-- with the exception of Marrero who couldn't hit.

That's right. "Queer" is not pejorative. It has official status as Q was added to LGBT years ago. If anyone has made an application to a college or university lately, you might know that the name of the affinity group has been modified to LGBTQIA and some schools define it as LGBTQIAHIV+. I am not making any commentary on this just stating what I know, and I am sure that I am already behind the curve. I just can't keep up.

in landing Sonny Gray, Robertson, Grazier, Kahnle, and Garcia, the Yankees parted with 1 top 50 prospect. The Yankees sent a MASH unit to the A's. I think we could have interested them in Swihart who has no future with us.

We are the shortest team in the league. We have a bunch of elves running around out there, I can see having some small guys around the middle of the Diamond as they are usually more nimble and quicker. Of course, one of our bigger guys plays SS and has no HR power. The game is easier around the rest of the field for bigger guys-- the physics of leverage should not be overlooked. It is not overlooked when it comes to pitchers. Scouts rarely will look at a pitcher under 6'3".

Holt is also still useful as a super utility player. He was key in last night's game offensively and defensively. He made a heck of a throw to cut down a runner at second. Benintendi's play out there has been very inconsistent and he has pulled quite a few rocks out there. Unless he starts mashing the ball, I would consider giving Holt more time out there.
