    Spring Training is a blast, and it was a pleasure taking in a couple of games with you again this year. Did your Cubs fan friend go to the 2 Cubs games? Count me in for the Sea Dogs game!

    I don't think he is "truly unhappy" not enough to pass up this huge contract. He only needs to be in Boston half the time for 6 months. As for you being crazy... you do get stressed by fantasy baseball.

    I am not a fan of the 1 inning per pitcher from the 6th or 7th inning onward. If someone is pitching well and throwing strikes, I see no reason to take him out after 3 outs and go to another guy who may be having an off day. That approach seems to be a search for failure.

    I think that he needs to react a little quicker when a guy is imploding on the mound. Some days a guy just doesn't have it. The manager gets paid to judge that.

    I don't think so. Cora had a spent bullpen. He had to let kelly get back on the horse. He got the first 2 guys out. There was no reason to take him out. He was throwing strikes yesterday-- something he didn't do on Opening Day.

    There is so much data in the dugouts that managers can;t find the time to call the bullpen to warm up relievers.

    Moon, I am not trying to pick a fight with you especially in the midst of 3-1 road start. LOL!! If Spud was wrong about you, it was not out of malice. He doesn't have a malicious bone in his body. It was just his perception.

    He is one of those guys who has an arm and stuff that indicates that he should be very successful, but he is frustratingly inconsistent.

    Spud is probably the most laid back poster here. If he is noticing something, maybe people need to think about how they are perceived. Coming from me (an irascible sometime prick) it wouldn't mean as much, but coming from Spud, it is a different story.

    Some here do live to negate the opinions of others. What they don't understand is that no matter how many numbers they pull out of their ass, they too are just stating an opinion which isn't worth a piss more than any of the other educated and studied opinions here. I know you to be a pretty calm guy and you have a long history here. You are not prone to overreaction.

    Cora's pen was spent, so he had to go to Kelly. He had to let him move on from the last game. He needs to be able to depend on him and that last game has to be festering for Kelly. It is always good to take 3 of 4. Cora can put his Opening Day mistake in the rear view mirror. The hitting will come around. After Sale and Price, it is hard to know what we have with the other guys, because Tampa is a terrible team. Facing the Marlins is not going to be a great indicator of what we have with our pitching either. The first good offense we will face will be the Yankees. Hopefully, Sale and Price will be lined up to start against them.

    The ball is being hit pretty hard against Walden. I would get him out before his luck runs out.

    We are definitely not paying JD to bat in that situation. I guess Cora hired coaches who he was certain were dumber than him.

    A stupid decision is always a possibility. There are numerous instances of agents and players misjudging the market. That could happen,and it cou;d play to the advantage of the Red Sox, but he will not be consciously leaving for less money. That part is nonsense.
