  1. By all means let's run our catchers on the bases. it will be an even better idea in August when it is 100 degrees after he has played 80 games.
  2. How can we ban this dweeb Speier from the booth?
  3. It may be a learning experience for him, but it is not defensible.
  4. Winning money in these leagues is bliss.
  5. After the second walk, Kelly was probably pretty certain that it was not his day.
  6. Cora blew one game that he should have secured in the win column. He's off to a bad start. The last time we hired a manager who was supposed to represent the next generation of managerial geniuses he was the worst manager in my lifetime. He eventually started forgetting his son at the ballpark and got arrested for trafficking cocaine through the mail and was on the way to another last place finish had the baseball strike not interceded. I don't buy hype, and I don't care if a manager is likable and gets good press. He can't blow games like yesterday's game.
  7. It is no wonder that she is stressed about fantasy baseball. She has no idea what she is doing.
  8. Unless the trade turns good, then it will be Benny Boob's credit.
  9. The geniuses who run baseball are being very successful at killing off the American pastime.
  10. Whether or not kimbrel was available in the 8th, Cora needed to get Kelly off the mound 2 hitters earlier.
  11. He said everything right except acknowledging that he sat there and reacted too slowly costing his team the game. how trite that he is going to turn the page as if he has any other choice. just a bunch of excuses, not really much different from what came out of Farrell's mouth after games -- just a different vocabulary. Farrell tried to make it soun like he was a baseball PhD.
  12. There isn't even a close second.
  13. In this thread, it is just one poster.
  14. Only one poster is making that case. Kelly had a bad day, but Cora left him out there to self destruct.
  15. He is almost as bad as Hanley was in the OF.
  16. He threw too many pitches, but he could have salvaged 5 IP with a lead if it hadn't been for Schwarber treating baseballs like they were hand grenades.
  17. I didn't know this about Kirby Puckett.
  18. And part with Kelly's great sense of humor and clubhouse presence?
  19. Stunningly bad late inning management.
  20. You can't let one of these sacks of s*** stay in for 3 walks and a double late in the game. Cora deserves the blame. He has all the data. He knows that these guys can blow up. You have to get these guys off the mound before they detonate and blow up the game.
  21. I had predicted 96 wins, but after seeing that Cora cannot lock down an easy game I am revising down to 90. This clown easily will cost us a half dozen games.
  22. The jury is still out on this, but we did see some encouraging signs from Bogey in Spring training. S5Dewey and I were at a game where Bogey hit a bomb over the batter's eye in CF and then later in the game on a tough breaking pitch, he stayed with the pitch and was able to pull the ball to the left side for a single. Normally, he would wave helplessly at that pitch. He showed an ability to stay on that pitch at the end of Spring Training. If he can manage not to get eaten alive by the breaking pitch, he could raise the level of his game.
  23. Is it too soon to call him Alex Coma? i don't think so. Being such a big data guy and having all that data at his disposal, I guess that none of it could help Coma from giving away a game in the late innings. Goodness, how did he leave in Kelly the game to give up 3 walks and a double. It was a 4 run lead on opening day with a fresh bullpen. Just unacceptable. There is no justification or rationalization for sticking with him that long. This loss is on Cora. H had better learn how to manage the late innings.
