  1. Whatever floats your boat.
  2. Spud is probably the most laid back poster here. If he is noticing something, maybe people need to think about how they are perceived. Coming from me (an irascible sometime prick) it wouldn't mean as much, but coming from Spud, it is a different story.
  3. Some here do live to negate the opinions of others. What they don't understand is that no matter how many numbers they pull out of their ass, they too are just stating an opinion which isn't worth a piss more than any of the other educated and studied opinions here. I know you to be a pretty calm guy and you have a long history here. You are not prone to overreaction.
  4. Cora's pen was spent, so he had to go to Kelly. He had to let him move on from the last game. He needs to be able to depend on him and that last game has to be festering for Kelly. It is always good to take 3 of 4. Cora can put his Opening Day mistake in the rear view mirror. The hitting will come around. After Sale and Price, it is hard to know what we have with the other guys, because Tampa is a terrible team. Facing the Marlins is not going to be a great indicator of what we have with our pitching either. The first good offense we will face will be the Yankees. Hopefully, Sale and Price will be lined up to start against them.
  5. The ball is being hit pretty hard against Walden. I would get him out before his luck runs out.
  6. Will Kelly get a chance to get back on the horse today?
  7. We are definitely not paying JD to bat in that situation. I guess Cora hired coaches who he was certain were dumber than him.
  8. A stupid decision is always a possibility. There are numerous instances of agents and players misjudging the market. That could happen, and it cou;d play to the advantage of the Red Sox, but he will not be consciously leaving for less money. That part is nonsense.
  9. Did Farrell leave his Base Running for Dummies Manual in the Red Sox clubhouse?
  10. If the lineups don't matter and the in-game decisions don't affect the games, why waste money on them. Teams have Press Secretaries to deal with the media. They have pitching coaches to keep the pitchers ready.
  11. The Utility Infield manager has too much love for Utility IF Holt who should only play if someone is sore.
  12. Lineups don't matter either, so why bother wasting money on a manager.
  13. Mentioning Price and Panda in the same breath highlights the nonsensical rabbit hole people are willing to go down in hopes that Price will leave. He’s not leaving for leads than he is has remaining on his contract. Maybe he’d take $2 million less a year to account for a more favorable tax venue and cheaper cost of living. That would take him down to $28-29 million/ year. Does anyone think he willl get that with his elbow history?
  14. If he can’t get $30 million elsewhere, he will not be leaving. Price is not a happy go lucky personality. He had a nasty disposition when he was on Tampa. If he likes his teammates, he is not going to let the media chase him off $154 million. The fans aren’t giving him a hard time. He probably has a very nice home on a welcoming community. The he hates Boston stuff is overblown. He has disdain for the media, but he is not going to turn his back on that contract because of them. He will just continue to give them a hard time. Leaving for less money is nonsense. No one hated Boston more than Manny, and the team offered several times to tear up his contract to let him walk. He never walked. These guys don’t turn their backs on that kind of money.
  15. Sorry, but that is nonsense. This is a a business, and Boston is not Afghanistan.
  16. Gabe Kapler reinforcing today that brains are not a requirement for field managers as he came out to give his pitcher a quick hook, but he had no one warming up in his bullpen. LOL!!!
  17. Cora blew that game. He left Kelly in too long. Even if Kimbrel was unavailable, it was obvious that Kelly was imploding. Anybody but him would have been an improvement after the second walk.
  18. Porcello kept the ball in the park and got the victory. Tomorrow is a real wild card with Velasquez going. If we win, starting out 3 and 1 is always good. If we lose tomorrow, splitting against a horse hockey team like Tampa is not good and it will highlight Cora's blown game.
  19. That is nonsense. He wouldn't opt out of North Korea unless he could get $30 million/year.
  20. If you want to replace him with a lesser pitcher, we will have a lesser team.
  21. Then call it a formula. I have no idea which Porcello we see today-- Big Dick or Little Dick. And even if little dick shows up, I don't know if the Rays have much power. That will be my standard prediction every time he pitches. What is your prediction?
  22. If Price opts out, it will be because he and his agent think that the market is lucrative. If the market is less than $31 million, he will not leave.
  23. It stands to reason that replacing price if he opts out will be more expensive than the remaining $124 Million.
  24. You are overreacting. Pissing and moaning about a manager letting a 4-0 lead slip away in the 8th inning against a half-assed team is to be expected. Stop wringing your hands about it. Cora will live.
  25. Is he the manager? There is plenty of stupidity to go around in manager's offices and coaching staffs in baseball. it is not a very good idea to encourage your catchers to run.
