  1. Yep, one who admitted that he was rusty on his physics, or did you miss that? Are you going to be the prick of the night?
  2. This has been a very enjoyable game thus far. I haven’t been this happy in a while.
  3. That was an enjoyable ining.
  4. It has been eons since God took Physics.
  5. MLB Trade Rumors is saying that Nunez will play SS and Holt 2B. They are not saying that they have a Red Sox source for that information.
  6. It will be tough missing Bogaerts’ mythical hot bat.
  7. Since you are giving me the last word, I will take it. I admittedly can be a prick with the best of them. In this case, you had it coming, and you know that.
  8. Isn't SS Nunez's natural and best position?
  9. In your post you were being a prick. As an attorney, spotting a prick is one of my specialties. You know that you were being a prick when you quizzed me on the laws of physics, so I treated you with the appropriate amount of respect.
  10. Could you jump as hard as Tyree and have the presence of mind and good hands to pin the ball against your helmet as you are getting hit and then hitting the ground? LOL!! Was it bad luck when Wes Welker dropped a wide open pass with no one within 15 yards of him?
  11. I am an attorney, so my science studies didn't go very far. My daughter and son in law are are engineers, but thankfully they are not dickheads. Since you are an engineer, you should be able to do all the necessary calculations on the physics in bowling. Take some time and post it when you are ready. There are a lot of good articles on the physics of bowling available on the internet to give you a start.
  12. I am not a doctor, but the inability to leave the field under his own power was probably due to the pain from the trauma. If the bone is not part of a joint and the crack is small and non-displaced, the key will be to get the swelling down and to manage the pain. The trainers may be able to tape the area to protect it from further damage. Who knows. We will have to wait and see. It sucks to lose our hottest bat when we are about to face the Yankees. Of course, there is no such thing as a hitter on a hot streak.
  13. Did you expect a term paper giving you calculations on mass, velocity, friction and gravity etc. I finished in the top of my class in physics in high school and college, but that was 35 years ago, and I am probably rusty. But thanks for being a dickhead.
  14. No, I didn't. And i replied to his post.
  15. [h=2]Red Sox Place Xander Bogaerts On Disabled List[/h]By Steve Adams | April 9, 2018 at 3:59pm CDT The Red Sox announced that they’ve placed shortstop Xander Bogaerts on the 10-day disabled list due to a “small crack in the talus bone in his left ankle.” Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston first reported that the Sox were going to place Bogaerts on the DL with a bone injury in his foot, adding that Bogaerts is in a walking boot (all Twitterlinks). While any kind of broken bone is worrying, it seems this is rather a minor injury. Indeed, the Sox’ announcement indicates optimism that Bogaerts can return in 10 to 14 days. They’ve recalled infielder Tzu-Wei Lin from Triple-A Pawtucket in the meantime. Nevertheless, it’s unfortunate to see Bogaerts face an obstacle after he had turned in a strong opening run to the 2018 campaign, with a .368/.400/.711 slash over his first forty plate appearances. Last season was a bit of a down year at the plate for Bogaerts, who is still just 25 years of age. He’s already earning a healthy $7.05MM salary this year and could command a big payday in his final season of arbitration eligibility if he can return in relatively short order and continue to be productive with the bat.
  16. That's a nonresponsive response.
  17. But I never disputed those factors.
  18. No, the immutable laws of physics are set in motion on every roll of the ball.
  19. I didn't say that it was precisely repeatable. No skill is. It was as repeatable a skill as you could witness, but they are human. Even though they were able to repeat the skill better than the rest of us mere humans, there were minor differences in their precision. That is why they don't bowl 300 every time.
  20. They practice with their bowling balls a tremendous amount. I used to bowl at Maple lanes in Brooklyn. John Petraglia was there all the time. It was as if he lived there. It was as a repeatable skill as you will ever see.
  21. I know some bowlers on the professional senior circuit, and I have a lot of excellent bowlers among my friends and family -- lots of 300 games. As far as taking you seriously, it is hard when you go off into crazy town about issues like this calling them facts. Based on your theory (not a fact as you say) since randomness is the predominant factor in close games, there is often not a deserving first place team or deserving champion as most of the time the margins of victory are decided by winning more close games than the other team, especially in the post season. What about football, does the same rule of randomness hold there as well? Six of the 8 Super Bowls by BB's teams were decided by 4 points or less and another one had a 6 point difference and was an overtime game. Were the Super Bowl winners of those games deserving or just lucky?
  22. I was just looking for this thread. LOL!!
