  1. I like JD sliding feet first. I don't want him risking his hands or wrists sliding head first.
  2. They never ever call a ball pulled for a base hit -- "a nice piece of hitting."
  3. Okay, would that be what they call a nice piece of hitting?
  4. Does he know how to pitch with a lead?
  5. Bradley with the head jerk on the swinging K. Again.
  6. Nunez has noticebly lost a step.
  7. Where did NESN get the idea to put Speier in the booth? Dumb decision.
  8. This team will be fin as long as we can keep Betts and JD in the lineup.
  9. That plus his proneness to concussions -- we should DFA him.
  10. He has made a few nice plays recently on balls to his right.
  11. Every pitch that will not hit them.
  12. The umps are almost always right on the plays on the bases. I am not a fan of the coming off the bases baloney on a slide. The weakness of the umpires that has the biggest impact on the game is balls and strikes and those are not subject to replay, so who needs replay.

  15. If baseball doesn't work out for him, then plagiarism is a resume enhancer if he wants to get a job at the Globe.
  16. The order of this lineup doesn't matter. There are too many dead spots to hide.
  17. He did much more than other team owners did to support and further worthy causes, while his sins were comparable to those of every other owner.
  18. I am also haunted by the millions in philanthropic donations by the Yawkeys.
  19. It would still be a weak lineup.
  20. He was doing his running and staying in shape. he should have been able to play 2 games in a row.
  21. A lineup with Moreland hitting cleanup is a weak lineup.
  22. He does have the post season failures hanging over his head. That has been the one negative on his resume.
  23. Your vilification was misplaced. Players have bad days. They are human. It is the manager's job to know when a player doesn't have it. That one was on Cora.
  24. It was a slight uppercut 4-8 degrees. It was about making contact not about launching the ball. His theory was that since the pitch was on a downward trajectory that a slight uppercut had the bat in the hitting plane for the maximum time. In his book My Turn At Bat, he mentioned that to hit the eephus pith that you should increase the angle to about 15 percent.
