  1. It isn't, and Dave would not have released him if another team could invoke the option.
  2. There are certain performance incentives that are not permitted in the CBA, but this doesn't sound like an area that is grey based on the reporting.
  3. People are all over him, because he has a placid demeanor (like JD Drew) and some people think he doesn't give a s*** or something. i think his demeanor is perfect for a guy standing in the middle of the field with all eyes on him. I also think that he is working hard to figure out what is wrong. He has been working extra side sessions against hitters etc. Hopefully, he can figure it out. When he is right, he is very, very good. The one big thing that he hasn't had much of this year so far are the key DP balls. They not only help to get him out of jams, but they are very useful in keeping his pitch count down allowing him to go deeper into games. He needs to improve his command. That is clear. But he needs some help from the god of randomness too. The concerning thing about his lack of command and dip in velocity is that it could be an indicator of an injury issue. If so, we will find out soon enough.
  4. Bartolo Colon uses 1 pitch.
  5. I think that the Red Sox would have had more patience with him if another team could trigger the option. If they kept him, they would control whether or not the option would vest.
  6. Bring back Ben and sub .500 teams and practical elimination from post season race by Aug 1. Doesn't everyone miss those days.
  7. I have no reason to doubt the reports on this as it would make perfect sense. The option would vest if he met certain performance objectives with the Red Sox in 2018.
  8. Pedey looked like he got zeroed in the last AB. I thought he had his first hit there.
  9. I was also baffled by the re-signing of Moreland so early in the off season for a 2 year contract, but he is earning his spot and his money.
  10. I'd give him 3 more chances with a quick trigger. Cora can't leave him out there to blow up games.
  11. Pedey is anxious -- lunging at balls.
  12. This guy Moylan has had a very underrated career.
  13. Pom should be on a short leash from here on out this season, because there are 2 capablemukri-inning guys in the pen to back him up. I agree that Cora should have had him hit the showers after the 3rd inning.
  14. Newcomb is just about done in this game @ 87 pitches.
  15. Swanson has made 2 excellent plays and it is only the 3rd inning. He also hit a 2 run HR.
  16. Pedey is running better than anytime last year.
  17. Pulled his head out of his ass.
  18. That should help jump start Swihart.
  19. If Swihart doesn't hit in the next few weeks, Cora will have some egg on his face.
  20. Yes, fine, but they don't need to take up an inning or more talking about it. And honestly, I don't care to see someone's parents interviewed.
  21. NESN announcers, I don't give a s*** about Sean Newcomb's familiy's dreams.
  22. There was a stretch of 2-3 years that it seemed like Tim Wakefield every time I went to Fenway.
