  1. Are the announcers mentioning that the Tiger hitters are fighting with each other to get to the bat rack?
  2. Can anyone say Bobby Sprowl? This is a far cry from Buch’s debut against a potent Angels offense.
  3. Is there a story behind his choice of number. 5 spot in the first inning. 7 run rule in effect. Hey Dewey, did we see him in Fort Myers or did I just see that on TV? I remember him getting blown up and sent down the next day.
  4. It hit too high I think, but I was more paying attention to the carom getting past him.
  5. Cant blame him for walking Miggy with an empty base. The guy can still hit.
  6. Travis will need some practice with that wall.
  7. I have never been at a baseball game where people turned on their phone lights like is was a concert. Did the announcers mention it in the 7th inning before Miggy complained.
  8. Two DH’s? The pitcher will have to bat.
  9. A700 with at the game mojo. This is the most heralded pitching MLB debut that I have seen since Buchholz (in the day portion of a day/night doubleheader against the Angeles in 2007). My recollection is that in the nightcap that Eric Gagne blew a save in the 8th and was roundly booed. I don’t think he saw another high leverage situation that season. My recollection could be faulty on that. Also in 2007, I saw Dice K’s debut in Fort Myers against BC.
  10. Travis in LF and Swihart catching. Hmm interesting.
  11. Ah, the mythical “hot hand”. I like it.
  12. No one can remember his name, but he was a “can’t miss” prospect who missed. He was untouchable in trades until no one wanted to touch him.
  13. He is, and we are all following his development. Pointing out the areas where he needs improvement isn’t complaining about him. It’s just evaluating his strengths and weaknesses. He is a bad defensive player right now. He has a strong arm. He can make very good plays on balls right at him or to his left. He needs improvement charging slow hit ground balls— very slow reaction time. And I am yet to see a good play on a ball down the line. I have seen more than a couple of olay plays on balls down the line.
  14. I am not griping just discussing my observations. We are not talking about Pablo the Walking Doughnut. That was something to complain about.
  15. No errors last night, but he was so slow charging a ground ball by VMart that he almost beat the play, and he must be too 5 slowest runners. He also should have had the ball down the line that turned into a triple. I am hoping that it is only a learning curve and that there will be steady improvement toward proficiency. Sometimes though he just looks to lack first step quickness needed at 3B. Sometimes he can make the spectacular play going to his left, but I am yet to see a spectacular play on a ball down the line.
  16. Those opt outs are not looking like a good thing for the Red Sox. This guy is a wrecking ball with a bat in his hands.
  17. Yes, but those did not affect his teammates, unless they wanted to make a phone call.
  18. Agreed. He messed up. There are no if’s and or buts. A mistake doesn’t define a career. He has had a few dick moves in his career. I am not remembering any instances where Papi threw his team under the bus or acted like a dick.
  19. I have been at several games this season where JD has played the OF. I think he is very serviceable out there. I am not seeing these “obvious “ deficiencies and limitations discussed by other posters.
  20. Devers has been awful defensively all season long and he has been faltering offensively for an extend period. He is in the bigs for his bat. If he doesn’t hit, he is a big negative.
  21. All the really big time athletes at American Heritage take her Environmental Science course. Don’t blame me if this guy is another big stiff like that minor leaguer player of the year that bombed out whose only contribution to the organization was getting tralraded for Steven Wright. What was his name?
  22. That is true. Excellent Baseball and football programs.
  23. Vasquez hit the ball very well tonight. E
  24. Yes, that is good news. Thanks.
