    That was one long single, and you are right that he did not run hard to first. Inexcusable. 2 boners in 1 inning. He cost us a run taking Holt’s ball and he contributed to destroying a promising inning at bat with his loafing.

    Pet peeve of mine for 2 years, when Moreland takes an easy ball for the second baseman only to be out of position to throw to a pitcher on the the run. Holt has that easy if Moreland had retreated to the bag and the run doesn’t score. And to boot Moreland almost killed our starting pitcher. When Pedey comes back, he needs to tell Mitchy to stay in his lane.

    Being slightly less hot garbage than the starters will not win him a role. He has to win a role. he isn't going to back into one by sucking less.

    Bringing up Beeks to give him a start to give a day of rest to the rotation was the equivalent of forfeiting a game. It was a throw away against a garbage team. Why throw away a game that should be easy to win? Why not throw Beeks to the wolves in a game against a good team with a pitcher who we don’t hit well. If you are going to throw away a game, do it when the probability of winning is low.

    Bradley was awful all night long making no contact. He should not have batted on the 7th. It was an automatic out.

    When would be supplant Vasquez? He is so far behind Vasquez defensively. Do you really think he could win the starting catcher’s job next season? He will be 27 next season. He is not a young phenom. He has never shown any great promise at any level. I don’t see him wrestling away the starting catcher’s job from Vasquez next season. I just don’t see any long term role for this guy. He is just not all that great at anything. His hitting is not going to knock off anyone’s socks.

    Devers is very young and very talented. Swihart is neither.

    Tell me what you envision as his evenorole for the Boston Red Sox. If Bradley turns around his hitting, he is the CFer. What is Swihart on this team?

    Why not PH for Bradley in the last AB. He is helpless.

    Can someone tell me what Swihart’s eventual role will be on this team .... even next season? He is not going to be the starting catcher. Vasquez is much better defensively, and Swihart is not doing anyywith the bat to make his case. He can’t play another position or hit well enough to justify giving him another position.

    Yeah, the pre-planned extra day off for the rotation has worked like a charm. He managed to get us 2 losses.

    In his first AB, he pulled his head off the 3rd strike on the the swing. No chance at all. Swihart needs to hit or Cora made a bad gamble.
