    One thing is positive, any team that signs him has no responsibilities or obligations under his Red Sox contract. That hasn't even been questioned by those who trolled the issue. Maybe he is just doing a Papelbon. He has made a ton of money. He could just be going off into the sunset instead of uprooting his life once again.

    The umps are almost always right on the plays on the bases. I am not a fan of the coming off the bases baloney on a slide. The weakness of the umpires that has the biggest impact on the game is balls and strikes and those are not subject to replay, so who needs replay.
