  1. He said that he was associating with a scum drug dealer. He didn't say that he had knowledge of the guys activities, but he'd have to be a major imbecile not to know what the guy was all about if he had pulled down $140 million in drug money.
  2. The networks paid for it, so there is money for MLB. I wonder how important it is in the network package.
  3. It’s an exhibition game. Does it matter? And now that there is inter league play, is there any need for this game at all?
  4. There are so many pitchers in the majors who stand like they are waiting for a bus when the ball is hit to the right side of the infield. It makes you shake your head.
  5. Flores is not a switch hitter and he is not the type of utility player that Holt or Nunez is. He is much bigger and stronger than either of those guys. He is also quite a bit younger and still developing as a hitter.
  6. Most knuckleball pitchers, coaches and managers will tell you that there isn’t a lot of coaching of knuckleballers that goes on, precisely because they don’t understand what it takes to make a knuckleballer successful. That is why knuckleballers seek out each other. It is like a secret society. If you want to give Cora an excuse for f***ing up that game by saying that no one understands knuckleballers, I’d have an easier time swallowing that excuse than the explanation that he knows so much more about knuckleballers than everyone else. That is just BS imo.
  7. The organization made the highest and best use of Moncada by trading him for Sale.
  8. The reporter knew that he was on the Red Sox,but didn’t know anything about him. As for what people said about it, all I know is what I read here. I don’t think anyone here prejudged his guilt. Everyone on TalkSox has hoped that he would be cleared. Edit : As for extradition, it is a fairly cumbersome process. They are not going to seek extradition to interrogate him or try to flip him on the perpetrator.
  9. Weekend daygame threads are usually shorter. Even the shut ins occasionally venture outside for fresh air. If this had been a weeknight game the gamethread would have been much longer for the exact same game.
  10. Visit family or friends... skiing?
  11. So what? He still f***ed up the situation despite his pedigree.
  12. i didn’t say that it was nonexistent just that there isn’t a lot of it. And I still consider college kids to be kids, not adults.
  13. i was referring to the person who broke the story on Hanley. That person didn’t know who he was. Of course there was plenty of opinion about it after the story dropped. That was natural. The irresponsible act was the initial reporting of the story. My opinion that I would stay out of the country for a while if I was Hanley was not a slam at him or a prejudgment of him. It is sound advice to wait until the authorities have time to sort out the issue and hopefully clear him. That would be better than coming back during the investigation and possibly being detained and/or interrogated.
  14. i agree about Girl’s softball. It is probably some of the best competitive Softball you can watch, but Girl’s Softball is just that. There really isn’t much WOMEN’s softball that is played on a very high level. The girl softball players who want to continue paying into adulthood and into their 30’s often need to find co-ed leagues to join.
  15. If I were Hanley, I wouldn’t come back to the States for a while.
  16. No one “believed” anything about him. It is the nature of instantaneous news in the Internet age. There is a lot of irresponsible news reporting that is improperly sourced and unverified. The person that dropped the bomb on Hanley didn’t know anything about him.
  17. You are right, but there are much sadder stories than his, and we don’t even know if he wants to play anymore.
  18. That thought did occur to me. I also thought at the time of the release that it was unusual that the release was so amicable.
  19. What do you think about Wilmer Flores?
  20. How about his 10 run rule for starting pitchers?
  21. I am confident that he will not finish the season hitting .178, but he is still going to stink.
  22. Unfortunately, no team will touch him after this whether or not it is unfounded. Why would they take the chance. He is pretty much a shot player.
  23. This year I will go to about 5 games. Most years closer to 10person. I watch a lot of their games on TV.
  24. We should make a serious run at Wilmer Flores on the Mets. I have watched a lot of him and have not checked the stats. He rakes LHP with good power. He plays 1st and 3rd. He's meh at 1st and not as good at 3rd. I like him better than Canha.
