  1. The funny thing about retirement is that I am busier than ever before. My friends who retired before me told me that would be the case, but I had to live it for myself to understand what they meant.
  2. I think he will be gone soon.
  3. I am only cranky when the Sox are losing. I can't help that, but other than that I am usually having fun. I never let a fool ruin my mood, and if they try, I just tell the to Eff Off or something similarly word to let them know that I am done with them. Don't mistake that for crankiness. Retirement has been good thus far. And yes, i am going to more games this year than usual. A couple of things have changed. First, I switched from a week day ticket plan to a full season. second, a friend of mine who is a Yankee season ticket holder has been having health problems and has been letting me use his tickets for a couple of Sox games. I have only been to 2 Mets games this season, which is less than usual, because the team is brutal. my friends who have the tickets can't face going to the games.
  4. 9-3 Red Sox. Sitting in boiling water couldn't make me cranky.
  5. Even if he was gassed or cramping, I still give him a shot to get the last out. With a guy like Johnson, each of these opportunities could be his last.
  6. It looked like the heat was getting to him. He might have had some leg cramps.
  7. He made a nice play on a scalding sinking liner by Murphy.
  8. Cora pushing the right buttons.
  9. A player isn’t necessarily a choker or clutch. He can be both. Sometimes they choke, and at other times they are clutch. It is not just randomness of performance. Boswell has written extensively about the phenomenon of choking in golf. And you will not find a single golfer to deny that choking exists. They have all experienced it, except that it is suspected that Nicklaus never choked. Here is one of Bosell’s many articles about choking: http://www.sportspsychotherapycenter.com/Boswell.htm
  10. Or he said that it is hot out and wanted to get into the air conditioning so please get the final out.
  11. Random Bowling for Dollars.
  12. He got them over-confident.
  13. You May be joking, but that might happen.
  14. He was starting to look a little gassed.
  15. Big win beating Scherzer tonight!
  16. Kimbrel was fine. The home plate ump had some problems.
  17. I guess that it will be Barnes for 2 innings.
  18. I forget which ballplayer told the story, but he was a SF Giant. When he came up to the bigs, Mays told him that he just tries to hold his own against the Koufax, Drysdale, Spahn etc, but that he makes his money against the rest of the league.
  19. Which bum do we bring in before Kelly and Barnes?
  20. Let's make hay against these bullpen bums.
  21. Rick with 2 Porcellos tonight.
