  1. He stinks. He has no major tools. Stern may not be the accomplished basestealer at the ML level, but I think he is just as fast. I don't think Harris is a better fielder or hitter than Stern, so why not keep Stern for another couple of weeks and let Harris walk.
  2. It's a little different. The season has started, if you haven't noticed, and the Rocket is not playing for anyone or on anyone's payroll. Damon never missed a check. He was never out of work.
  3. Exactly, and he'd get some great experience. When Coco returns, send Stern to Pawtuckett to get his ABs.
  4. I was against this move. Stern should have stayed until Crisp returned. Harris adds nothing. There isn't anything that he does better than Stern.
  5. I think you just sign up again and get a new card.
  6. Enjoy the ride.
  7. Welcome to another 40+ year old fan. Who was your hero as a kid? Yaz, Rice or Lynn or Pudge?
  8. Welcome
  9. We won't bitch about that ever again. But we would not buying someone else's player to help us win (a la the Yankees with Damon as the latest example). Currently, Clemens is out of a job, and if the Sox brought him back, they would just be reclaiming their own property.
  10. ...and Terry made all the wrong moves as usual this year.
  11. He just really sucks, and I have been on record saying that since they signed him. Terry talks about how closing isn't that important, because sometimes the biggest outs in a game come in the 7th or the 8th. Well, he talks the talk, but where is the walk? The biggest inning that outs were needed was the 8th. Toronto's hitters started on a role. Terry should have given the ball to Papelbon after the first homer. If he could have stopped the bleeding, Terry could have turned over a 2 run lead to Foulke or Timlin for the 9th.
  12. Foulke should have finished the inning. Terry has done this twice to Foulke. Foulke is a finisher. He has a closer's mentality and he was throwing well.
  13. Roger would be the # 3 on the team. He is better than Clement, Wake and Dinardo. He's a pretty good #3.
  14. Tough loss, because our 4th and 5th guys are going against their ace and Towers.
  15. It took Seanez 2 pitches to ruin 4 innings of great relief pitching by Foulke and Papelbon. I think the pen will develop into Foulke setting up Papelbon, if Terry isn't too thick-headed about moving Timlin to the 7th.
  16. He hasn't had any good outings.
  17. Seanez blows!!! That's twice in a row that tERRY DIDN'T LET fOULKE FINISH HIS OWN INNING and he got burned twice. He threw 36 pitches, but he could've given him one more batter. He's pitched 3 games in a row, so he won't pitch for a couple of days
  18. Foulke was squeezed on that. He pitched great. He hit his spots and he had their hitters oo-balance. Everybody is killing him and scared to see him come in, but he has been an elite reliever in 6 of the last 7 years. And he looks pretty good to me recently. This guy Seanez is a heart attack.
  19. Crap! But they have to go to the last guy in their pen.
  20. Speier has thrown 37 pitches.
  21. Nixon can take his fastball deep-- if he throws it.
  22. Matsui just struck out with the bases loaded and a full count.
