  1. This team plays into Clement's wild style, because they are very free swinging and will swing at lots of his pitches out of the zone.

  3. Those other guys are good closers, but Papelbon is setting records. You can't say that he is not a Mo-type reliever because he has not done it for 10 -years. He is more of a Mo-type reliever now than Mo. The fact that he has not done it for 10 years is an irrelevant fact.
  4. I almost never use his name. I would think that you would realized that by now. I refer to him as PD short for Prima Dona.
  5. keep this in mind, Luis Sojo has more rings than PD.
  6. Yes we Red Sox fans tend to overvalue our 32-year old sure fire Hall of Fame players. BTW Manny will make the Hall on the strength of his tangible numbers. He will not have to depend on the sentimentality of writers that use trumped up excuses like Intangibles or rings.
  7. They are not pitchers. If you look around the major, many of the WBC pitchers have experienced arm troubles or unusual ineffectiveness.
  8. It is a business, so I don't know why that would upset you.
  9. What's amazing is that Tavarez got a save for that terrible display.
  10. From today's Boston Globe" "Timlin attempted to throw before yesterday's game, but when that did not go well he had an MRI and was placed on the DL. Timlin said the MRI showed `'no structural damage. Everything's very sound. The doctors are amazed that I'm actually 40 years old.'"
  11. Halladay will give up 7 hits
  12. Red Ruffing was 39-93 for the Sox, not deserving of even an honorable mention. The Babe was almost purely a pitcher for the Red Sox (and a great one at that). He doesn't deserve consideration for an OF slot. One year part time outfielders don't deserve consideration.
  13. ARod should be the better player, he is getting paid 3 times more than Lowell. He is also a # 3 or 4 hitter for the Yankees, when Lowell will be batting 6th, 7th or even 8th for the Sox. However, Lowell is the superior fielding third baseman.
  14. You are right. Tavarez was toast and Terry wasn't moving. No way they get the next guy out.
  15. Willie Harris saves the day! You cannot feel good about Tavarez or Seanez at all after this.
  16. Someone shoot Tito. Mills assume power.
  17. Another Walk--- 5 in this inning. Go get him Terry. Riske can throw strikes and he is good against lefties.
  18. 3-0 again. this is unbelievable
  19. C'mon ump put up the right hand
  20. 2 runs and 0 hits. f***in Terry should have let Wakefield go for the CG Shutout. He knew that he had crap in the Pen today.
  21. A nasty K from Tavarez but Belli with the PB. Baeses still loaded and 1 run in.
