When Gagne was lights out, he stood head and shoulders above the rest of the closers, including Mo for that period. How was anyone to know that his arm would blow out. Your argument rings hollow. It seems that you are saying that Papelbon is not a lights out Mo-type closer because he hasn't done it for 10 years; therefore, he should be put into the starting rotation. You also seem to be arguing that there are many pitchers that can put up these fantastic dominant streaks as closers, but only for 1or 2 years. Is this what you are saying, because, I don't see the logic.
