  1. It's to the point where it doesn't matter anymore. Apparently, a very large percentage of players were using something, both hitters and pitchers and everyone from scrubs and minor leaguers to the stars. The playing field was even in that regard. The owners and the press were delinquent in letting it go on under their noses. The press takes the position that they could do nothing about it, but that is just BS and a refusal to be held accountable. If the press had shone the light of publicity in a relentless manner, the issue would have come to a head before the 90's were over.
  2. 9 losses in a row for the Braves. Theo had better beat the Yankees to the punch.
  3. A guaranty of a WS Championship, but no Lester or Papelbon? Yes, I take it. No matter how strong you are with those other guys, you are always a short series and a couple of hot pitchers and breaks away from elimination in the playoffs. I'll take my Championship now and worry about replacing those guys later. I am enough of a gambler to know that the odds are never in your favor to win a WS championship at the beginning of a season.
  4. Just what we need another sinkerballer that opponents hit .400 against.
  5. Nixon continues to sting the ball.
  6. Will Joe go to Mo in the 8th? I hope so. He is still smarting from Zimmerman's walk off on Sunday, plus the Sox are winning again.
  7. This is the perfect situation for Rudy. he can never be trusted in a close game.
  8. He is becoming an offensive force that combined with Manny and Ortiz is totally daunting for opposing pitchers.
  9. If it stays 1-0, will Joe get Mo up for the 8th?
  10. My ML expectations for him this year were low to say the least. I am glad it looks like I was wrong. I don't think he is another Casey Fossum over-hyped lefty.
  11. 6th inning and the Yanks have gone to the pen. By August there will be so many limp noodle arms in the pen that it will look like a bowl of linguini.
  12. He's just hit 100 pitches. That's probably it for him. 10 k's! Holy crap! I hope everyone finally agrees with me that this kid is the goods.
  13. So, throw in Edgar Martinez along with Pedroia.
  14. Getting Smoltz is a win-it-now move. I for one would like to see them win it all again this year. It would be worth a prospect or two as long as it isn't a blue-chipper.
  15. This is usually the inning where Wright runs out of tobacco juice.
  16. I am old but not old enough to remember all of those. How many did you witness?
  17. That's not a wad of tobacco. It is really what Yeszir posted last night.
  18. I am getting a Papelbon-er watching this kid pitch.
  19. So, you trade the one legit All Star of the group. I'd rather part with any two of the others. Trading Crawford for an unproven pitcher would have a good possibility of being this generations trade of Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio. At least Broglio was an established pitcher with 18 and 20 win seasons under his belt.
  20. There is an open spot in the rotation that they are filling with bums. I think Wells could find a slot, but I don't think he is going to return.
