  1. If Theo is not going to get serious about getting an experienced SP, I wouldn't mind seeing them give Hansen a spot start. He'd be a tremendous improvement over the medley of garbage that they have been sending to the mound every fifth day.
  2. Mo's pitching with an 11-3 lead. Ya gotta love that.
  3. He'll get hot at some point. He's very streaky, aqnd when he is going bad he is and looks very bad.
  4. Not enough elevation by Manny
  5. Ortiz with a frozen rope single to lead offf the 6th.
  6. Theo has to stop shopping at the 99 cent store.
  7. 5 walks in 4 1/3 innings tonight by Boston pitching--- a recipe for losing.
  8. When he left 3rd everyone in the place was yelling: "He's going!" And the POS Johnson still took forever to deliver the ball. He could have stolen it standing up and not got hit by the ball. Unbelievable.
  9. This is far from a certainty.
  10. This guy Corcoran also blows. He's getting away with murder. The Sox should be beating him like a pinata.
  11. After the game Terry will say, "He battled. A couple of ground balls got through the infield and he made one or two bad pitches and before you know it he gave up 7 or 8 runs." It would be refreshing to hear Terry say that the guy blows aqnd doesn't belong in the rotation for a contender.
  12. Comparing the two pitchers is like comparing plastic to steel garbage cans. Both are garbage cans.
  13. Oh please, let's not make the 5th spot a revolving garbage can. They need a real pitcher. We've seen enough of Johnson, Snyder and that other kid.
  14. Johnson is a waste. I said it before he threw a pitch for the Sox that any dollar spent on this acquisition is a complete waste. The Sox have to stop dicking around and get serious about acquiring an experienced 1,2 or 3 starter.
  15. If that were true, and that's a big "if", it doesn't change the fact that ARod is the better SS.
  16. Don't look now Yankee fans, but the Blue jays are right up your butts. They are 1/2 game out of 2nd.
  17. A. I like that the Yankees refuse to improve their defense. I find it amusing. B. I continue to be amazed that Yankee fans are not incensed by this poor managerial decision. C. I never said the Sox don't have prima donas. However, unlike Yankee fans we don't revere an average fielding player with no pop as an icon. BTW Schilling did agree to move to the pen last year when the team needed him. Francona did not hesitate to ask him even though Schilling had certainly earned the right to refuse the move. Torre would never ask DJ to move, and he is careful to keep ARod away from SS when DJ is down with an injury. D. ARod is out of position at 3rd. Haven't you been watching? 3B is a position for star SS's that are over the hill, not star SS's in their prime. It's just a ridiculous situation and a terrible misuse of talent, and I love it so don't take it the wrong way. It doesn't bother me at all.
  18. If he can't get back and pitch productively, the FO has to get an experienced starter.
  19. He might have a little choker in him, but I think (make that hope) his natural ability might be able to overcome that against the weakened Yankee lineup.
  20. I just can't remember if I have ever seen anyone steal 4 in a game for the Sox...not Harper, Nixon, Remy, Damon. I could be wrong, but if I am it is certainly a very rare occurrence.
  21. With the Yankees watered down lineup, Kaz should not have any trouble as long as he can throw strike one.
  22. I'll go on record right now and predict that he will never accomplish this feat for the Red Sox.
  23. A third inning pressure at bat? against a guy that was melting down? I thought the definition of pressure at-bats according to the statistics guys meant 7th inning and later. BTW: When are the Yankees going to end this 3B experiment with ARod. He is clearly out of position. He should be playing SS instead of the prima dona with no range. Tonight Boone sneaked a ball past him up the middle that a SS with range would have been able to put in his pocket. Nick Green is a minor leaguer and should not be at 2B. He's a good fielder, but (with the exception of last night) he's an automatic out. Jeter should be at 2B with ARod at SS and Phillips at 3B until Cano comes back. When Cano comes back, he should play 3B. I love the fact that the Yankees just refuse to improve their defense, when they could do it without making a roster move.
