    He only had to take one of the 5 games, but he doesn't get all the blame for himself. He was starting out deep in the hole pitching the "ultimate Loser" and the rookie in the double header. Theo put him into an 0-2 hole and Tito took it from there.

    Tito didn't have many options to get offense into last night's lineup. I guess he could have put Ortiz at 1B, moved Loretta to 2B and DH'd Javy Lopez. He probably would have been better off with hinske in RF even against a LHP.

    It would really spark even more interest internationally in Japan with Ichiro and Godzilla going at each other 19 times a year in this rivalry.

    Does anyone know when Ichiro's contract is up? Maybe Seattle would entertain trade offers for him. He would fill the CF and leadoff slots very nicely.

    I thought the facial hair ban came in after the Munso/Jackson days. Maybe it's faulty memory but I thought that Mattingly got reprimanded at least once for length of hair, etc.

    He's a real treat to watch in day games as he fights the sun. Edit: I really doubt that he will be back next seasson. He has been exposed for what he is-- a 4th OF. He has made Theo look like a fool, because Theo went out of his way to say how they were following him at the end of '05 and had a big interest in him. He acted like he "scooped" the rest of the league.

    The Red Sox have habitually treated its aces like that. How many times did a manager put out a lineup full of backups for Pedro, and how many times did the pen blow games on him?

    Cora had time to use his bare hand and Schilling compounded the problem. I don't think tonight's lineup has 3 runs in it.

    What is Ichiro's contract status? He would look mighty good patrolling CF in Fenway. Plus, think of the international interest generated in Japan with the two biggest japanese stars in MLB going at each other 19 times a year in sports most intense rivalry.

    Theo and his sharp eye for talent may be working a waiver deal for these guys as we speak.

    This is infuriating to watch. The Royals have a better lineup without Sweeney.
