  1. OMG we threw out a base runner. Whose grandmother was running?
  2. He has talent, but no special tools.
  3. I'm sorry that I called him a midget, but he is not 5'9". I don't pretend to be a scout, but I can tell a special player from the rest of the pack. He has no special skills. He may end up being a good MIF, but not a special MIF. Obviously, I am hoping that he succeeds, because he has been anointed as the next FT 2B. I just think that giving him the job without making him earn it at the ML level is a mistake. Again, you are mistaken, because I don't root against our guys -- never have and never will (not in the regular season). Just because I may be right when I say that a guy sucks (e.g. Seanez), that doesn't mean that I am rooting against them. Also, I really get a kick out of the notion that I favor older players because they are older. Have you seen a negative post from me about papelbon. On the other hand, most of my posts about Seanez and Tavarez and javy Lopez have bee negative. If you are too lazy to dig up the threads to confirm your faulty memory don't just assume you are right just STFU. BTW: Pedroia jus made an E.
  4. What an embarassment! Youk botching a pop fly.
  5. Are we dead or not dead? Are you backtracking to saying that it is more likely that we are dead? :dunno:
  6. The Of is an adventure with a 1B/3B in LF and RF and a LF in CF.
  7. So far, I am totally unimpressed with this new midget middle-infielder. I'm not seeing any special tools. Rookies without special tools should not displace experienced veterans, but that's just me. A rookie should have some special tools to win a starting job.
  8. Good for you. I don't see any other Skankee fans coming forward.
  9. This guy Snyder sucks.
  10. I was probably the first one to stick a fork in them. Thats not the issue. Are Yankee fans willing to stick in the fork. If you are, declare so right here. Don't use pussy comebacks like "we still have a comfortable lead." Show some balls and declare us dead.
  11. They had a very comfortable lead one other time with a magic # of 1 with 4 games to go, and that didn't work out. If you are so confident that you think you can officially bury us, go right ahead.
  12. We all harp on Nixon for his proneness to injury, but Wil Mo's is off to a really bad start in that direction. So, far the injuries are limited to his wrist, but it is looking to be a chronic problem. That's not a good thing for a power hitter that K's a lot.
  13. They lost 2 to Seattle. This skid may not be Angel-specific. Don't forget that Moose is on the DL.
  14. If the Yankees don't snap out of their funk and put some more distance this week, the FO will continue to cling to false hope.
  15. The only thing preventing the white towel is that the Yankees refuse to bury us. They are playing like crap too.
  16. You are right about that, but the Yankees are tanking too.
  17. Sunday's lineup will sport an OF with Youklis in LF and Hinske in RF. This is becoming earily reminiscent of the Jimy Williams days, when he had Daubach in LF and Jeff Fry in RF. There should be some interesting plays today. Javy Lopez will be in the lineup as well as Loretta at 1B. Yuck! and Snyder on the mound. Also, newsflash: Lester will not be making his next start due to soreness from the car accident. Gabbard taking his place. It just keeps getting worse.
  18. Don't see it happening. Not enough courage by the FO, unless the team falls another 4 games out in the next 5 days.
  19. IMO the FO doesn't have the balls to move him. They will not publicly admit their failure -- that this is not a playoff caliber team-- with four games still to play with the Yankees. By that time it will be too late to make a trade, Losing 4 more to the Yankees would be a disaster for the FO. You can check the record books, but I've been watching for 39 years and I don't remember losing 9 straight to the Yankees, not during their championship runs, not even during the Butch Hobson crack-pipe years. The FO will not risk going to Yankee stadium with a bunch of rookies from AA and AAA. I think that about now management is starting to realize that they may have pushed their strategy too far too fast and they have a s*** team to show for it.
  20. I like when people mcall him E-Rod. Don't stop. GayRod is even better. No offense to gays intended.
  21. I figuresd we would never see him take the mound this year after he was shut down with bruised buttocks. What a warrior:rolleyes:
  22. Plus, Hinske stinskes.
  23. Really, do you think I aahve an etalyan agsent too! BTW: The spelling is right now.
  24. The only pundits that really count are the ones that set odds in Vegas. I don't think the Sox were a longer shot than the Jays at the beginning of the year. Anyway, you are correct that the team didn't look great coming out of ST, but that's not an excuse. Theo didn't just run this team into the ground since July 31st. The process of running the current team into the ground has been a two year odyssey resulting from numerous bad moves and non-moves.
  25. Terry is making excuses for Timlin. Just realize that he is a shot pitcher.
