    I was probably the first one to stick a fork in them. Thats not the issue. Are Yankee fans willing to stick in the fork. If you are, declare so right here. Don't use pussy comebacks like "we still have a comfortable lead." Show some balls and declare us dead.

    They had a very comfortable lead one other time with a magic # of 1 with 4 games to go, and that didn't work out. If you are so confident that you think you can officially bury us, go right ahead.

    We all harp on Nixon for his proneness to injury, but Wil Mo's is off to a really bad start in that direction. So, far the injuries are limited to his wrist, but it is looking to be a chronic problem. That's not a good thing for a power hitter that K's a lot.

    They lost 2 to Seattle. This skid may not be Angel-specific. Don't forget that Moose is on the DL.

    If the Yankees don't snap out of their funk and put some more distance this week, the FO will continue to cling to false hope.

    Sunday's lineup will sport an OF with Youklis in LF and Hinske in RF. This is becoming earily reminiscent of the Jimy Williams days, when he had Daubach in LF and Jeff Fry in RF. There should be some interesting plays today. Javy Lopez will be in the lineup as well as Loretta at 1B. Yuck! and Snyder on the mound. Also, newsflash: Lester will not be making his next start due to soreness from the car accident. Gabbard taking his place. It just keeps getting worse.

    Don't see it happening. Not enough courage by the FO, unless the team falls another 4 games out in the next 5 days.

    IMO the FO doesn't have the balls to move him. They will not publicly admit their failure -- that this is not a playoff caliber team-- with four games still to play with the Yankees. By that time it will be too late to make a trade, Losing 4 more to the Yankees would be a disaster for the FO. You can check the record books, but I've been watching for 39 years and I don't remember losing 9 straight to the Yankees, not during their championship runs, not even during the Butch Hobson crack-pipe years. The FO will not risk going to Yankee stadium with a bunch of rookies from AA and AAA. I think that about now management is starting to realize that they may have pushed their strategy too far too fast and they have a s*** team to show for it.

    The only pundits that really count are the ones that set odds in Vegas. I don't think the Sox were a longer shot than the Jays at the beginning of the year. Anyway, you are correct that the team didn't look great coming out of ST, but that's not an excuse. Theo didn't just run this team into the ground since July 31st. The process of running the current team into the ground has been a two year odyssey resulting from numerous bad moves and non-moves.

    Terry is making excuses for Timlin. Just realize that he is a shot pitcher.

    It's just displaced anger. People are upset that the Red Sox look worse than the Royals and they go beserk over punctuation. The anger should be directed at the FO and in particular Theo who ran this team into the ground. Also, Tito has cracked under the pressure and can no longer think straight during the game. The more Coco plays the more he gets exposed as a terrible fielder with no arm at all. If the FO goes into next season with him as the CF and leadoff hitter, we will be in for even more disappointment.

    I like the analogy, but even if we had the ingredients, we lack a competent chef/manager to combine the ingedients and cook the meal.

    Boomer hadn't thrown 100 pitchers. He was dealing beautifully. He should have come out for the 8th with Papelbon backing him up. Going to Timlin was just so ridiculous. He stayed with him after the HR-- that was bad enough, but then he stayed with him after the next guy got on. It was time to get him before he could throw away the game.

    He doesn't fit the mold that JH is looking for. He likes these media friendly/professional types like Tito and Theo. Duke got fired because he had the reputation of being a prick with the press. A fiery type like Sweet Lou would never get the approval of a sissy like JH.

    I still can't believe that Tito didn't go ape-s*** and do an Earl Eaver over that call at 3B. I just don't get it. One of the umps had to see the bobble.
