  1. None of us Red Sox fans think of that game when we see Cairo., but we do remember that ridiculous trip around the bases on Manny's catch and Manny laughing. I still giggle.
  2. What potential!
  3. From Sunday's Globe: Would you give him a chance to platoon with Youk? I would.
  4. Pokey's catch was better. He wasn't flailing like a windmill in a hurricane.
  5. From Sunday's Boston Globe: JH sounds motivated.
  6. Of course, I would welcome a bad year by Moose, but the pattern for this guy in the last few years has been that he has been breaking down more often. If he stays healthy, I stand by my opinion that he is a whining weanie. Edit: You might say that Moose breaking down is predictable.
  7. It's ironic that Jeter's most popular catch (photographically at least) was in a year when the Red Sox finally won the World Championship in storybook fashion. Other legendary catches like Mays catch in the 1954 World Series and Swoboda's 1969 catch against the Orioles were part of the lore of a World Championship.
  8. Same game? I didn't remember Cairo's hit.
  9. Great move. Seeing him will always remind me of the time he trotted around the bases thinking hit a HR while Manny made the catch in the OF. I always gigle when I see him.
  10. If you want to win this contest. Look to see my picks and then do the opposite.
  11. I love it when the Tuna gets burned like that.
  12. It would be a major kick in the balls to the Yankees if Clemens returns to the Red Sox. I think JH and Theo would love to kick them in the balls, or maybe I'm just projecting my own emotiuons.
  13. My gut reaction when Randy was obtained by the Yankees was that I was upset. My reaction when he left town for prospects was relief. These were my honest emotional reactions. Maybe one or more of these prospects will be good major leaguers in a couple of years... or maybe they'll just be 3 turkeys that will have been forgotten. Right now, I am glad that big ugly lefty is out of town. BTW: Just because I revelled in his failures in pinstripes doesn't mean that I loved for that he was a Yankee. I also revel in ARod's failures, but I'd take him on the Sox for prospect (blue-chippers too) in a heart-beat.
  14. On another message board I read that John Sickles rates the 3 prospects received by the Yankees as the 18th, 19th, and 20th prospects in the D'Backs system, all getting grades of C+. I think I would trade our 18th, 19th and 20th prospects plus Tavarez for the Unit.
