    It's alarming for a guy that hits 13 HRs/year. The Red Sox team BA from 2003-2005 was higher. It's not the fact that he has no power that makes him a marginal major leaguer. It's the fact that he has marginal skills. He's slow, with a noodle arm, a slow bat, and no power. Where is the major league skill? Hard work has gotten him this far and he should be admired for that, but he's a bench player at best. His upside is being a Scott Hatteburg type player. That's his upside.

    The Brookly Dodgers were part of American lore. That was all lost when they moved to LA.

    The bottom of the lineup is very weak.

    By the time these guys become decent major leaguers they'll have been through a couple of more teams. Now is when I would want to face them. We'd chew em up and spit em out.

    I am optimistic about watching Ortiz face Wang again. I was at the stadium the day he hit launched a rocket that left the Stadium faster than it got to the plate.

    You say this as if it is nothing. He's their All Star CF and he's way older than Damon. They kept their star. The other two are marginal starters' date=' certainly not stars. It's not just about Pedro.

    I was just contradicting the premise that dismantling Championship teams is common today. The White Sox re-signed their stars that first off-season and added Thome. The Cards are re-signing their stars. Only the small market expansion teams have dismantled their championship at faster rates. When I posted that, Riverside accused me of still being pissed about Pedro. That wasn't my point. My point is that dismantling a Championship team is not the norm.
