  1. Varitek with the clutch hit. Lugo continues to hit well this series.
  2. A double from Lowell. I've that a few times the last two years.
  3. How would you like Big Papi slapping the glove with the ball in it on your back on a pickoff. Ill bet that stings a bit.
  4. If the Yankees hire Girardi, I think they'll go with a youth movement and expect Girardi to teach them the game and be a firm disciplinarian. If they finish out of the playoffs after year two, he'll be gone and Donnie Baseball will take the job.
  5. He is 0 for 7 lifetime now against Cook. He'll get him the next turn.
  6. We'll brobably need more than 1 run to win this game.
  7. He was able to turn on Beckett's fastball. Our pitching has been much better than theirs, hence our rookies getting on base all the time. No one on the Rockies has been a problem for our pitchers except for Holliday. Tulo can play SS on my team any day.
  8. He broke the wrong way, but s*** happens.
  9. I am doing my part. I have not moved from my position on the couch since game 4 of the ALCS.
  10. Can't argue with the results so far, or for the season. He was bmuch better than I had expected.
  11. As good as Youk is, he may not make that scoop because he gloe is on the other hand.
  12. Some of us weren't worried about the players, but stupid managerial matchups. Tito didn't let the Lopez move snowball although Timlin, Okajima and MDC did not make life easy for him.
  13. Beating the Braves was the equivalent of beating the Cards.
  14. They had the best record in all of baseball. The Yankees did not really beat major powerhouses in their championship years. After Piazza and Leiter, the 2000 Mets were full of nobody's and over the hill players like Zeile and Ventura. The 1999 John Rocker Atlanta Braves had a bunch of doozies on their roster. Their SS was the immortal Walt Weiss. Check out their Bullpen. They had good stats, but that had to be a function of being in a very inferior NL. Those guys were bags of crap (Rudy Seanez et al)
  15. Go with it, but I am not the final word on this site.
  16. You may be right, but let's not forget that ARod was willing to take less money to get out of Texas. We have no idea what his opinion is about playing in NY. He says he likes it. He always says all the right things. He said the right things in Texas, and he even went along with the charade of being named captain after the Red Sox deal fell through. Maybe he doesn't like 24/7 media coverage. It must be a lot of pressure acting like a phony every minute of every day. San Francisco needs a star now that they have parted ways with the despicable Barry Bonds. ARod would thrive in that low pressure atmosphere.
  17. The big question is whether we will see SOK's tonight.
  18. You are a doctor. Don't you bleed less the second time you get raped in the ass?
  19. I will be sorry to see that loser Don Mattingly go. I can't imagine they'll keep him on the bench. That being said. Girardi is an arrogant ass with a temper. He'll crack under the NY pressure without a doubt. They make a big deal of what he did in Florida, but he walked into a situation where he had an infield that included Uggla, HanRam, and Cabrera-- not bad. That is more talent than the entire Arizona lineup.
