  1. Their CF is getting awful breaks on the ball. He's breaking late and the wrong way.
  2. Crooked number and still no one out.
  3. ..and that is why Papi never sits for anybody. Few guys hit the ball as hard. The ball makes a different sound when Oritiz and Manny hit the ball than when mere mortals hit it.
  4. Beautiful bunt. Pedroia is not fast, and he had that beat even if the throw wasn't high.
  5. Fast kid with the double to lead off the 3rd inning.
  6. Don't take crazy chances like that unless we go up 3 - 0 in games.
  7. Dice k foul tipped it at least.
  8. Lugo with the double.
  9. Very low strike call, and Tek has really lost a step getting down the line.
  10. Nice inning by Dice k
  11. Matsuzaka and Lowell ran the run down the right way.
  12. J.D. forgot the ball
  13. Fogg is not coming anywhere near the middle of the plate.
  14. Fogg's keeping it low
  15. Wow, two IF hits. There was nothing Tulo could do with that. If the runner on 1st had average speed, he would have had a force play.
  16. IF hit. We'll take it. Let's set the table for the big boppers to clean them off.
  17. That's crazy. It has to do with where I sit on my couch and when I get up for bathroom breaks etc.
  18. Yes, I know. He's having surgery, because the discomfort and pain has increased, not because of any structural damage to ligaments or instability of the joint. He's not risking any career threatening injury by playing with this condition.
  19. Joba hasn't had a ML start, nevermind a no-hitter. Joba's the guy with the 4+ ERA in the post season who blew the crucial game of the ALDS.
  20. I agree with everything in the post, except 2004 probably doesn't happen if not for the loss in 2003. Getting that close and losing IMO motivated ownership to go out and get Schilling and Foulke in the off season. If they had won in 2003, I don't know if the FO would have had the same motivation.
  21. How did they know that when he had been discussing a contract for less money with the Boss's son-in-law? No one else is or was asking for permission to interview him. Why would they offer him anything if they wanted him gone?
  22. He's had this condition since last season. Doctors saw no reason to operate. The pain has gotten progressively worse, but there is no ligament damage and the knee is stable. Playing with the condition is uncomfortable, but there is no increased risk of ligament damage.
  23. The lights out ace that we possess is only 27 and our other 15 game winning rookie is the same age, and next years starting CF is young too as is our ROY candidate at second base.
  24. The fundamental difference between Damon and Torre is that there was a market for Damon. He had an offer from the Yankees. The Yankees were the market for Torre. There are no other $5 million offers on the table for him Worried? Why would I worry about him. I don't even know him. IMO he made a stupid business decision, and he was a punk about it on the way out.
